  1. Don't sweat it! I thought you spoke very good english.I really enjoyed conversing with you. I look forward to getting together again on the Skype in the near future.
  2. I was abit curious if others here had this program on there computers and came across this thread. I'm a big fan having talked to people in Illinois, Arizona, Texas, Scotland and Germany. I would really enjoy the opportunity to talk to some of you guys at some point. If you happen to see my on Skype, give me a buzz. My screenname is thomasjj.
  3. Thanks guys for the input. I originally had a Kenny Burrell release scheduled to be sent Monday, but when a fellow jazz fan hyped this one recently, I decided to take the plunge. I figured I couldn't go wrong especially after reading the review on yourmusic.
  4. I just ordered this one. Anyone want to add there thoughts on this one, seeing it's the first Booker Ervin purchase I've made up to this point?
  5. I know there are a few people here at Organissimo that enjoy blues music. So I thought I would post this link for access to nearly 1600 mps of blues and gospel music. Check it out! Roots Listening Room
  6. While I also enjoy classical music a great deal, the blues is a real passion for me. Not a difficult choice here.
  7. I've only had a chance to listen to it once, so far, but I'd highly recommend it. And if you're already an Elmo Hope fan and it's now available for $5.99 with free shipping, what the heck are you waiting for??? That's all I needed to hear, Ron. Both items have now been placed in my cart. Man, I love this place.
  8. The Ike Quebec 45 Sessions sounds like a keeper after all the good things I've read about it here. I also enjoy Elmo Hope big time. Anyone willing to offer a few thoughts on that release?
  9. What are the other two? Dialogue and Components are the other two.
  10. Glad to hear alot of folks singing the praises of Oblique. I received this one in the past week from yourmusic.com for 5.99. I own only 2 other Bobby Hutcherson albums at present on Blue Note and this by far is my favorite.
  11. Excellent stuff, Jim. Me and My Wife is a real nice number. Look for me to be a customer. I'm sold.
  12. Funny stuff, guys. I really do enjoy my job for the most part. It keeps me out of the office most of the day and the time flies by. Winters can test the nerves abit. The cold doesn't effect me too much as long as I dress properly. It's the ice that gets me. I've fallen a number of times. Luckily haven't gotten hurt seriously, although it creates anxiety no doubt. As for taking any jazz shipments... Well there is this guy on the route who gets Mosaic mailings now and then. I couldn't mess with him though. He already knows I'm a jazz fan and he would suspect me first if anything should suddenly come up missing. Besides, he recently gave me a jazz Christmas anthology and I just wouldn't have the heart.
  13. No s***! My job requires to me work outside(mailman) and I already have a negative attitude. Well another 11 years and maybe I can retire.
  14. I've been meaning to get ahold of that Earl Hooker bio. I can't imagine a band featuring both Earl and Otis together. I would've loved to heard those guys. Two of my favorite blues guitarists hands down. Great pics BTW, of Fred and Odie.
  15. I thought Paul Rogers filling in for the late Freddie Mercury was a strange fit.
  16. I just got off the phone after hanging on for close to 45 minutes trying to speak to Norton with no success. For the past 5 days, I've had difficulty accessing my email account which happens to be Outlook Express. The only way I can access it at this point is if I temporarily shutdown my firewall program and only then will the emails be accessed. I called Time Warner which offers Road Runner and they offered me this temporary solution. They suggested I call Norton and was provided a 800 number. Apparently they're being deluged with calls after a recent live update which seems to be a root cause of the problem. Anyone else encountering this problem and wish to offer any advice? I can't stay on the phone forever. Thanks.

    Saga Blues

Wow, thanks Brownie for posting this. Looks like they have some very interesting releases. The Bluesman Spirituals anthology is of particular interest to me along with the Lightnin Hopkins release. Very nice.
  18. Hi Shawn. Not sure if you own this already, but I just received in the past week from yourmusic.com 'Tough Tenors' with Johnny Griffin. It's a good one my friend and at $5.99 you can't go wrong.
  19. HWright, let me get a plug in for Blindman's Blues Forum and suggest you visit that site as well and post your inquiry. I know a few guys on the forum there who are very knowledgable and might be able to provide you with some additional info. Just a thought... Just click on the link in my signature. Tell 'em I sent you.
  20. I try to wait until most of the leaves fall before venturing out and beginning what has become a favorite activity of mine next to shoveling snow (sarcasm). There seems to be less of them this year as a result of a developement being built behind my property. Unfortunately a large number of trees have been removed from the once wooded property. The city I live in allows us the option of either bagging the leaves in paper bags(no plastic!) for curbside removal once a week or simply dumping the leaves in a large pile next to the street for eventual removal. The downside is the neighbor's leaves across the street eventually find there way into my yard for me to further rake.
  21. Female stylist here. She's been cutting my hair for nearly 15 years. She's very attractive which of course has nothing to do with why I keep going back. I usually spend $25 which is abit on the high end, but I don't mind paying it. You get what you pay for. She's actually responsible for setting me up with a girlfriend of hers years ago, who eventually became my wife.
  22. The temps here neared 70 early in the day, before the big plunge with the arrival of the rains. Having a job which requires me to work outside(postman), it was most likely my last opportunity to break out the shorts till next spring. It's been a great fall for the most part here in the northeast.
