  5. Hey NYC Deadheads.... https://www.nyhistory.org/web/default.php?s...&id=5798416
  6. Man Bud Selig had better be praying that the Dodgers and either the Twins or the Angels make it to the Fall Classic. Remember how lousy the weather was last year in Philly?? Well that was a week earlier then this season's WS. Boston, Denver, Detroit, New York, St. Louis, & Philly in November?? HA! The weather guys are calling for rain and 40 -50 MPH winds on Wednesday in Philly and Saturday/Sunday in Denver they're talking highs in the low 40's with a chance of snow both days.
  7. More like "No artist has had his musical legacy tarnished as profoundly as Jimi Hendrix." Call me skeptical.
  8. Happy 84th Bill. and
  9. Ornette Coleman - Broken Shadows (Columbia, re-issue?)
  10. Whatever that means. I could do with a translation too. I think he's trying to say that the Beatles have, for better or worse, left an indelible mark on his psyche that has altered his perception of darn near everything since he was 8.
  11. Holy crap! The White Sox are beating the Tigers 5-1 in the bottom of the 9th. If Detroit loses they will fall into a tie for first w/ the the Twins. Two more outs.. One more... Game.
  12. Gee, I'm totally shocked. I didn't see this coming at all. Blindsided even! Jays fire their GM.... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4528183
  13. Thanks for posting that article.
  14. Reptet - Agendacide (Monktail Records) Red Vinyl!! Jimmy Lyons/Andrew Cyrille - Something in Return (Black Saint)
  15. Arrival in Philly. Can't wait to get home tonight and give this a spin!
  16. Happy Birthday to you Rod.
  17. This is really disgusting if the allegations are true.
  18. The flowers were nice but some dark chocolate would have been better.
  19. Or, the post could have been genuinely funny and we were expressing our appreciation. Is that a bad thing? It's not a bad thing. Look I try to stay out of the daily machinations of the board but I feel a need to respond. Yes, Allen is one of the few board members that I've had the pleasure to meet with and share a drink. However, just because I've met him offline that doesn't mean that I automatically give all of his posts a "pass". Please give me some more credit than that. I'm not sure if you are being facetious but.... OJC = Original Jazz Classics. Surely you remember a few years ago right after OJC was acquired by Concord there was a thread here about a long time female employee(Terri Hinte) that had been let go. So I found it rather humorous that Allen tied those two threads together. As I said in my previous post YMMV.
  20. Diaz picked off 3rd, Marlins win. Lidge get Brinkman to ground out on one pitch Phils clinch!! :rhappy: :rhappy:
  21. Jesus H. Christ! The Braves have scored twice in the 9th thanks to two errors by the Marlins to cut the lead to 5-4. Two outs bases are loaded. Man if they lose Ricky Nolasco is going to be one pissed off mofo. Cholly just put in Lidge w/ 2 outs in the 9th and the Phils leading 10-3. Guess he figures not even Lidge can blow this one.
  22. A quick memo to our West Coast members - Go see Reptet. They are a fucking blast to see live. You will not be disappointed. Johnny and the gang know how to spread the joy around w/ music. Get some or you'll regret it.
  23. Update: Nolasco 16 strike outs(14 swinging) Marlins up 5-2 in bottom of the 8th. Phils batting in the bottom of the 7th leading 8-3. Edit: Nolasco pitched 7.2 innings w/ 16 strike outs and no earned runs. Thanks dude. Phils up 10-3 after 7.
  24. Ricky Nolasco has struck out 14 Braves(12 swinging) through 6 innings so far! Marlins leading 5-0 in 7th. Meanwhile the WFC are leading the Astros 7-3 in the bottom of the 6th. Something tells me the Phils are going to clinch the East tonight.
