  1. I would love to see the Bulls win but I don't think it happen.
  2. There goes Pierce.
  3. You know what's weird? Ray Allen fouled out the last game in regulation. Tonight he has played 54 minutes through the first two OTs and has committed ZERO fouls.
  4. This is insane. Now it looks like the Bulls are going to pull it off. EDIT: Man, I'm a jinx. Could triple OT be next?
  5. 4th one in 6 games and the Bulls are blowing it. EDIT: Oh man. Double OT!
  6. Latest on A-Fraud..... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4114292
  7. The loss was super-frustrating (and sorry Rondo totally deserved a flagrant at the end of the game there), but you could say the same thing about the Celtics wrapping up the series. Except for game 3, these all have been nail biters. Pretty great basketball series, even though I think the Celtics will prevail. Sadly, poor coaching probably did cause the losses in games 2 and 5. Vinny is getting better, but he still has so much to learn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TzGrzs7-AI
  8. Had a rare afternoon off w/ the house to myself. Got to listen to: Dave Holland/Sam Rivers - Volume 1 and Volume 2. (IAI) It seems that they must have printed 10 x as many copies of vol. 2 than vol. 1. I just never run across copies of volume 1 in Philly. Anyway my luck changed recently. After watching copies go for over $30 bucks the past year on ebay AND having the previous copy that I won turn out to be unplayable due to a massive WARP that the seller neglected to tell me about - I finally found a NM copy in one of the local shops for $10!! Ahh... Willem Breuker Kollektief - s/t (About Time) I really liked this. Which reminds me that I need to pick up some more albums by him. finished up with Gil Evans Orchestra - Plays the Music of Jimi Hendrix (RCA) Good stuff - he's got some "A list" players - Billy Harper, Hannibal Peterson, John Abercrombie - however I can't help but feel that this could have been better. I mean first off Gil only arranged 2 of the 9 songs on the album. Also, while I like all of the compositions that he picked I would have loved to heard what he could have done to "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" or "Manic Depression" - alas.
  9. Yanks cut ticket prices..... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4108293 Here's another take... I watched an afternoon game between the Yankees and A's last Wednesday, and the first 10 rows from dugout to dugout looked like they were closed. There was the random straggler down there, learning the hard way that a $2,500 seat doesn't buy companionship, but for the most part it looked like a Pirates home game. In a rainstorm. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=keown/090428
  10. Just ordered issues #33 & 34. Thanks for the tip.
  11. The Lakers beat the Jazz by 58 points??? Holy smokes! EDIT: Oops. That should read Nuggets/Hornets
  12. Well there was a hell of pitching duel tonight in Philly. 13-11 in favor of the WFCs. The Phillies hit not one but two grand slams. Yowza.
  13. So how was the Burton Greene & Perry Robinson gig & interview???
  14. Seriously? I thought i had posted about it when it happened. Well here you go... (NSFW)
  15. Is that "World F-ing Champions"? Even the most arrogant Sox bandwagoners didn't adopt that nickname. It's not arrogance. It's a nod to Chase Utley.
  16. The WFCs swept the first place Marlins today. Hopefully this is the start something good. The two 9th inning comebacks by the WFCs were the first time they had done that in consecutive games on the road since they did it against the Dodgers. The Brooklyn Dodgers.
  17. Did anyone catch the Bulls/Celtics game today?? I still think Boston will win this series but the Bulls are going to make it close. So now what happens to the Pistons??
  18. Tonight I'm going to see Tony Conrad + Keiji Haino !!!
  19. For the 2nd night in a row the WCFs entered the 9th trailing the Marlins and pulled out a victory. Not as dramatic as last night's but hey I'll take it
  20. I thought the Pats would take Maualuga. Hell, I thought he'd go somewhere in the early to mid first round. I can't believe he dropped as far as he did. Love the Eagles' first two picks. Cowboys have no picks in the first 2 rounds?????
  21. I will definitely be at Chris'.
  22. Iannis Xenakis - Electro-Acoustic Music (Nonesuch) My third semi-trashed copy. Returned the first two for refunds but, I'm keeping this one until I find a pristine upgrade because it only cost me $8. Sigh.
  23. Okay so I finally broke down and bought a VPI HW16.5. You're right, it's not noisy at all. I don't know what those Audiogoners were smoking.
  24. Brandeis University Chamber Chorus, Alvin Lucier Director - Extended Voices (Odyssey) featuring works by Robert Ashley, John Cage, Morton Feldman, Toshi Ichyanagi, Alvin Lucier, and Pauline Oliveros. Followed by The Minutemen - The Punch Line (SST, original pressing w/ insert)
