  1. Yep. It's about on par with dog fighting, IMO. Just with guys in tight sequin suits shaking their asses around.
  2. Sad but expected news. RIP.
  3. OK. I have a copy in good condition of Willis Jackson, "Gentle Gator" (prestige) I'll offer up for starters. I like John's shipment terms -- free to U.S., cost of shipping overseas in form of amazon gift certificate.
  4. Time I jumped into the pay it forward movement. Not familiar with Mr. Walrath, but I'd be glad to give it a good home. I will offer up some discs here shortly. And I will pm you on the Walrath. Thanks.
  5. That's great news Dan. Lucky dog.
  6. Somebody help me out here. Big Baby suffers a 'concussion' and is cleared to play a couple of days later? A concussion? Actually paid attention to Game 5 and it seemed to me the C's were really trying to play physical. All it got them was three injured players and two "concussions." And another 'L.' I was actually rooting for them after they eliminated the Cavs, but after watching that Game 5, nah-ah. Although, it would be interesting to see how LA (or Phoenix) responded to that 'physical' schtick.
  7. Good for the bull. It's a barbaric activity.
  8. Congratulations and glad to hear you're doing well.
  9. Red Sox are now 1 1/2 games out of the wild card slot. Ahead of Toronto ...
  10. You mean, an alternate thread?
  11. FYI -- ordered Cabaret Echoes today from Archeophone for $29.99 plus shipping.
  12. Post notice here or PM me if you have anything happening in mid-late June, mid-late July. I'd be interested and will likely have some 'free' time. Have a good time on the 28th!
  13. Happy birthday. Best wishes.
  14. Tough first couple of months, no doubt. But positive signs are beginning to appear -- Dice K flirting with a no-hitter against the mighty Phillies, taking 2-of-3 at Philly, beating a pretty good Twins team before that. If they can win a couple in St. Pete and get a little Mo-Jo going, and the Yankees continue to struggle, who knows? The real fly in the ointment is Toronto. Just get past them and wave at the Yankees as they continue to fall past you, next thing you know you're within striking distance. The Rays are going to hit a bad stretch at some point. The pitching staff is just not going to be able to maintain this pace. Price really struggled Sunday in Houston (Houston!) but still got the win, incredibly.

  16. I didn't see a list price at Archeophone. Think I'll wait a few days to see what they will be selling it for.
  17. I love happy endings. Never really bothered with eBay myself. I think I purchased an item through them once several years ago and that was it. Do have a paypal account though, and it's linked to a low-balance account just for that purpose. But, usually use a credit card as a payment method anyways.
  18. That looks wonderful. Thanks.
  19. It seems that in many cases it's just a matter of one take being more polished than another. Tighter. But that's not universally the case. Solos can change. Emphasis changes. Or the differences might be more pronounced -- the rhythm section jumping into double time during a section in one take and not another, for instance. I also think it depends on the tune. If you really love a song, you may be keenly aware of the differences. Or you may just want to hear as many versions as there are for the fun of it.
  20. Very good. Look forward to it.
  21. The Complete OKeh / Brunswick Bix, Trumbauer & Teagarden
  22. That was a tough loss. Blackhawks seem like a team destined to win it all.
  23. Reassuring that he works for the DOD.
