The NBA has one upset (and I'm not sure it was really even really that much of an upset) and the entire league is in a collective tizzy. OMG! LeBron's Gone! No Cavs-Lakers final! Meanwhile, the NHL has had a No. 8 seed (No. 16, overall) knock off a No. 1 seed, then go on to knock off the defending champs, taking out the game's two biggest stars and the league's leading goal-scorer on the way, and now a historic comeback by Philly, and the league is giddy with excitement. Plus, two original six teams in the final four. And no matter which team wins now, it'll have been a long time coming for the eventual champions. ... playoff hockey, you can't beat it.

Biggest surprise so far -- The Nationals.

Now that was excellent. Big "wow" factor. Touching. And the whole thing unfolded at a perfect pace. Pretty damn riveting. The last thing you want to see in a series finale is Seinfeld sitting in a jail cell.

I've heard from women friends who have said that they inevitably have to swat away long-lost high school classmates who have suddenly transformed into full-fledged stalkers trying to "reconnect." ... Another shocking development.

Yeah, obviously there's nothing wrong with trying to get on base however you can in the middle innings in a fairly close game. If you're down 9-0 in the 8th or 9th and bunting just to try to break up a no-hitter or perfect game, that's another story. But bunting is entirely legit in the middle innings in a reasonably close game.
