  1. That's a great idea! All the stoners would buy that CD!
  2. I know that I'll probably get laughed at for this. My suggestion would be to do the Grateful Dead's first album. I know there's some snickering going on, but this albums cooks. I have been listening to it almost non-stop for the last week. The guitar on it is smoking. The bass is inspired. It's got some great grooves and great places to open up on. Listen to this album for a while. I'd be surprised if it doesn't grow on you. Trust me, this would sound so cool done with some greaze! This music isn't the comatose stuff that everybody thinks of when they think of the Grateful Dead. Plus, you'd be able to sell it to Deadheads everywhere. We buy every Grateful Dead related release that comes along. Also, you'd probably get instant admission into the who jamband world. If Blue Note can sign MMW and Soulive, there's no reason that a real jazz group like Organissimo wouldn't get picked up. :rsmile:
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you have a great one!
  4. I hope you got your mitt on, Alexander! I would normally agree with the idea of showing grace to a defeated foe, but in Saddam's case, I don't feel much sympathy for him. Regardless of whether this war was right or not, we know this man has committed heinous acts against his own people. To me, it is good that he has been caught. Hopefully this will contribute in a small way to our troops getting out of that place. I think making a few jokes about the guy is a lot kinder than what the Iraqi people will do with him.
  5. Here's what Saddam looked like when they found him in the hole:
  6. This statement makes for an interesting contrast with your current signature, jacman. Talk about mixed messages! You should have seen the chapter that was removed from "The Night Before Christmas"....
  7. I haven't been following the Hello Kitty thread, so I have no idea... but here's R/T's gift to you, John:
  8. This is great! I'm listening to it right now. Thanks guys!
  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! John, I hope you have your best birthday yet!
  10. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you have a great day, Jim!
  11. Great pictures everyone! Parkertown, can I borrow that cage for my 2 year old? Tony, that baby is a cutie!
  12. Welcome SS! :rsmile:
  13. Thanks Ghost!
  14. I finally picked up BLACK RHYTHM HAPPENING last week. WOW! They did a nice job with the reissue. I'd like to pick up more Water releases.
  15. Jazz Groove, Thanks for starting this thread! I've been having a lot of fun at sharingthegroove.com
  16. I've been using this for a couple weeks. The only thing involving my firewall was when it asked me to allow it to send info to sharingthegroove when I first started using it. Other than that, my firewall is normal and I've been leaving shows up for others to download. There's some great Coltrane and Miles up there now. I've got some Dead shows, a bunch of Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, Zappa, etc...
  17. When I read the title, " Yule Be Miserable", I was afraid Verve had dubbed Kenny G onto all those tracks (ala his duet with Armstrong ). That would be an uncool yule!
  18. I hope you both have very happy birthdays!
  19. When I got into jazz, I was a listener. After a while, I became I collector. I think the Conns got me started down that road. I collected jazz very seriously for about 8 years and realized that it had lost its joy for me. Now, I'm a listener again. I'm enjoying the music more than I have in years.
  20. Right on, Catesta! Bring back F-Troop!
  21. I hope you have a GREAT birthday!!!!
