  1. Yeah, thanks. This is very competitive.
  2. Jim--The derogatory nickname for Dunleavy isn't my creation, fwiw. He and Murph are both classy players, as far as I know.
  3. I remember being bewildered that the Warriors gave Derek Fisher such a huge contract, as if he were a great starting point guard. He was a hard-nosed defender, but he was already showing signs of slowing as a Laker. Fish worked great with Shaq and Kobe, because he really developed his three point shot and the two bigs drew so much help that he was wide open all the time. He'll always be a favorite in Lakerland, but the Warriors really overpaid for him.
  4. I'm rooting for the teams I don't think are going to win: Indy and NO.
  5. My guess is those are all new bands, SS1. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and The Poets Of Rhythm are both current bands. Doesn't mean they aren't good, but they don't have quite the vintage quality of the tradition they play in.
  6. Isn't Carmelo still suspended? Biggest problem with Troy Murphy is he's too slow to guard anyone. I like what he can do on offense, but it isn't enough to make up for what he can't do on the other end of the court. The Warriors fans I know hate "Dunlady," they say he's terribly inconsistent.
  7. Nice win for the Lakers last night in San Antonio. Anyone see Kobe's dunks on ol' Timmy Turtlehead? Look out below!
  8. Maybe Bird has a soft spot for slow white players.
  9. That's one of my favorites, SS1. "Prowlin'" is a jam.
  10. Whenever he hears me playing music and he doesn't know the artist, my Dad always asks me, "Is this the Bee Gees?" just to be a butt head.
  11. "Jazz Dispute" was my favorite.
  12. Freddie Hubbard - Here To Stay I hadn't heard anything about this one previously, but I think it is an outstanding album.
  13. McDyess, wtf?! Can the Lakers trade you one of their dead-weight guards for one of the best sixth men in the league?
  14. I bet the dancing is covertly encouraged by NFL marketing heads. Some people love that stuff. I always find a degree of satisfaction to an offensive team converting a 3rd and long after some dimwit defender celebrates a 1-yard loss on 2nd down like he won the game.
  15. I think Nazr for Jaric is a big mistake, Jaric is a softy.
  16. Two words: tuck rule. Nah, they're a hell of a team with clutch leaders. Brady had an awful game, but when given a chance for redemption dug down and found a way to make plays today. Hell, I was rooting for the *ack* Chargers, but really I don't like them any more than the Pats.
  17. Thanks for the correction, I transcribed the lyrics by ear. "Onliest?" What's that mean?
  18. The 4th and 5 interception that turned into a fumble recovery, 1st and 10 for the Pats was nothing short of miraculous. I just about threw my television out the window.
  19. Man, I hate the Patriots.
  20. I thought the "defensive player moving as to cause a false start" call against the Seahags on the field goal attempt (which missed) was obvious home cookin' for the Bears. Sure, the defensive player moved--but not into the neutral zone and it didn't cause any of the Bears to flinch that I could see in the replay. Pure crapola.
  21. Tramp You can call me that I don't wear Continental clothes, Stetson hats but I'm a lover Mama was Papa too I'm an honest child Lovin' is all I know how to do Call me country Right from the woods I'll answer when you call me Uh baby, that if it, uh Makes you feel good But I'm a lover Mama was Papa too But I'm an honest child Lovin' is all I know how to do Now whatever you call me I'd even go for that 'Cause I keep a fat bank roll in my pocket baby You know I own, uh, three Cadillacs 'Cause I'm just a lover Mama was Papa too I'm an honest child Lovin' is all I know how to do
  22. Sangrey and I are on the same page, I see.
  23. I listen to an Elmo Hope recording with the expectations I have for jazz music. I listen to a J Dilla recording with the expectations I have for rap music. I listen to a Ray Barretto recording with the expecations I have for salsa music. I listen to a Baden Powell recording with the expecatations I have for Brasilian music. I listen to a Mickey & The Soul Generation recording with the expectations I have for a funk band...etc, etc.
  24. NOJ, You accidentally chose San Diego AND New England while failing to pick the winner for the Chicago-Seattle game. Whoops, thanks Ed. I fixed it.
