Based on what I've read of his commentary from his radio show, I would think Bob would be anxious to give credit where credit is due. In fact, I would think all artists "sampling" in some way would want to give recognition to those who inspired them, out of respect.

I'm surprised to read there were so many adverse reactions to Steve. His job was to work with these dangerous animals, and he was very respectful of them. Often when he was working with crocodiles, he was being called on by the public to help deal with rogue animals who were encroaching on human-inhabited areas. Steve took every precaution to be sure animals were not harmed when he dealt with them and he very much cared about their welfare. His enthusiasm for nature and conservation were genuine.

How about some alliteration? Wilbur Ware and Gigi Gryce.

Sports arguments are always much more fun when nothing gets personal and opposing fans can still shake hands after the game. Having been guilty of being a poor sport myself on a few occasions, eventually I realized how poorly it reflected on myself as a sports fan when I didn't respect the fans of my teams' opponents. Name-calling and genuinely mean-spirited arguments don't help win the argument, and only lower the opinions others have of the person making them. My two cents.

I was at the Rose Bowl yesterday to watch the Bruins take on the Utes from Utah. UCLA's new starting QB Ben Olson looked really solid and threw for over 300 yards and 2 TDs. The game was closer than the final score indicates, the Bruins got a lot of lucky breaks. A win's a win!

The US puts their team together right before the tournament and expects to beat teams who play together year-round. Playing basketball as a team simply doesn't happen overnight. Defensively, they couldn't adjust to a simple pick and roll being run very well by Greece. Though the US team was clearly comprised of fantastic atheletes, many of them are young players who haven't won anything at the professional level (with the exception of Dwyane Wade).
