    Crusaders

These are my favorite two Crusaders albums from the funky latter days. "Mystique Blues" and "A Message From The Inner City."
  2. Love that Ashby album! Her version of "Feeling Good" is niiiiiice.
  3. My OJC is sounding better all the time!
  4. Remember Lyn Shaye in Something About Mary?
  5. Marcoliv's BFT#15 is also a favorite of mine. That Buddy Montgomery tune "1,000 Rainbows!" RDK's BFT#11 Bonus Disc!
  6. I've heard dogs' mouths are technically cleaner than humans, but their halitosis is often overwhelming. I like dogs, but not doggie kisses, thanks.
  7. All the same, go Sparks! Layup drill, baby!
  8. WNBA=We're Not Ballers at All.
  9. Turrentine, Blue Mitchell, JJ Johnson. In addition, I have the Jazz Crusaders discs, but no box or booklet. Also the last set of discs in the Stitt set. I had the Curtis Fuller, but I traded it to Conn for the individual discs.
  10. Catesta has serious j.
  11. Exactly. I'm also Raja - too short and too heavy for my position and average at just about everything (basketball-related that is). But just think, even the suckiest NBA player gets a couple hundred thousand a year just to stink up the court, even if it is only for a year or two. Man, I wish I had that gig! Actually, Raja Bell is an outstanding player. He's a hard-nosed defender with a nice catch-and-shoot jumper who rebounds well for his position. Raja played a big role in helping the Suns get to the Conference Finals last year, including hitting a huge three pointer to stave off elimination against the Clippers.
  12. Apparently I'm Raja Bell. I hate Raja Bell...but my mediocre game does resemble his fine NBA talent.
  13. Same for me, Free--but it started today.
  14. Not certain, but I bet the ones that are a pain in the ass and leave glue residue all over the jewel case are ones that have been sitting on the shelf for a long time. Newer ones peel off for me, no problem. Or maybe it's a matter of the temperature they were stored at during shipment/on shelves, since a hair dryer is helping.
  15. Rule of thumb for phone spammers--there's almost always a pause after you say hello before they respond. They use speed dialers which dial multiple numbers at once. Never say hello twice, just hang up if no one responds the first time. If the spammer does get through, interrupt and say, "I do not respond to telephone solicitations. Good bye." Then hang up.
  16. Brooks has played miserably in both preseason games for the Raiders. He stinks.
  17. At the last minute I got invited to the Marlins/Dodgers game last night and went straight to Dodger Stadium from work with two of my oldest friends. We sat in the Loge level, about even with 3rd base, under the overhang of the upper deck. Great seats. Derek Lowe pitched a gem through 7, surrendering only one run on a triple by opposing pitcher Dontrell Willis. D-Trane was great until the bottom of the 6th when Garciaparra crushed a 2-run bomb about 400 feet to the left field bleachers. Dodgers manufactured two more runs the following inning and went on to win 4-2, their 16th victory in 17 games. Man, in addition to being a hell of a pitcher, Dontrell can swing it! His triple was a laser, and in his following at-bat he smoked one into right field that was caught. He looked like the best hitter on Florida's team.
  18. It's a well-known fact that the "moon landing" was filmed on the back lot of Universal Studios.
  19. My squads: NBA Lakers Clippers *will root for Lakers against Clippers. MLB Dodgers Angels *will root for Dodgers against Angels. NFL Raiders Rams *will root for Raiders against Rams. NCAA UCLA USC *will root for Bruins against Trojans. Noj=DIE HARD HOMER!!!
  20. You know I'll be down to post my picks after the games have been played.
  21. Wow, 150 cds! Or at least 100+ with a few box sets. Yea, I think I'm gonna take this stuff home in sections over many days. I'll be broke for a while with this self-inflicted damage on my credit card. The life of a hopeless music addict...*sigh*. That doesn't seem particularly excessive to me. 100 CDs here, 100 CDs there, who's counting? Excessive? Hell no! Admirable.
  22. Wow, 150 cds! Or at least 100+ with a few box sets.
  23. I've since replaced it with all the full-length albums. This was among my first 10 jazz cds.
  24. Go Dodgers!
