  1. yeah, Candy Clouds and its companion album The Morning After the Third are both wonderful. I imagine the smoke was thick at both sessions!
  2. yeah, confirmed by Joey DeFrancesco on Twitter. Bummer.
  3. I believe that the above is true, unfortunately.
  4. I like it a lot. Listened online, ordered the CD, should be here in a couple days. Probably should revisit my old Ingo LP of the other live "Love Supreme" and see how it holds up. I remember having fun spinning that one too, though it's been years.
  5. me either. He's awesome.
  6. Jeez, never even heard of that one. I have the Spring reissue. Good record though I don't necessarily understand the price original copies command.
  7. Dulfer's third album as a leader was named after her: https://www.discogs.com/release/1344214-Hans-Dulfer-And-Ritmo-Natural-Candy-Clouds looks like that one has been reissued recently as well. It's superb.
  8. it's included in the EMI Dulfer CD box from several years ago.
  9. no biggie. I really like Dulfer's music from that period a lot! I guess you could even say it's the fifth as he co-led Soulbrass Inc. with Herbert Noord, and that LP was released on Stichting Jazz Werkgroep prior to El Saxofon.
  10. Great record -- second side features Frank Wright's group + Dulfer, John Schuursma. First side is Dulfer, Jan Jacobs, and percussion/vocals. It's actually Dulfer's fourth LP as a leader.
  11. thinking about getting this as the original is pretty impossible. How is the sound/package?
  12. Saw Craig Harris a few times over the summer in outdoor concerts on Long Island -- he is still very much active!
  13. Steve Swell Dan Blacksberg Craig Harris Jeb Bishop
  14. Good one! Haven't dug it out in a while, must remember to do that.
  15. That's very sad news! He was really something else. RIP.
  16. here's an interview I did with him in 2013: https://www.cliffordallen.me/interviews/ivo-perelman-the-indisputable-truth-of-process-an-interview-2013 there is a ton to choose from -- I think the collaborations with Shipp are among his best. Just got the 9CD set of Brass & Ivory Tales but haven't really chipped away at it too much.
  17. yeah, I have the original Birth pressing somewhere around here. Great record. Haven't listened to it in a long time.
  18. Jerome Cooper -- Bert the Cat Hans Dulfer -- the Morning After the Third Theo Loevendie -- Mr Brook
  19. yeah, a great and long life it seems. RIP.
  20. 100% agree. Just listen with your ears. Glad the scene is more diverse, at least in terms of participants, than it was even 20 years ago. Here's an interview with Shayna that I did years ago. https://www.cliffordallen.me/interviews/the-long-distance-bassist-an-interview-with-shayna-dulberger
  21. definitely prefer the earlier stuff but this certainly could be interesting.
  22. wow, didn't know this. Henk ruled.
  23. is it possible that there is acetate damage where that song begins? Might have been irreparable.
