  1. yeah, exactly.
  2. Trane sounds great on it.
  3. Miles and Milt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quintet/Sextet Miles and Teddy Charles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Moods I'm sure that at least Miles and Milt performed in concert together. Miles and Don Elliot in '52: http://www.plosin.com/MilesAhead/Disco.aspx?id=RareBroad
  4. I have the New Jazz pressing, "Big Stuff," which is in mono. Incredible album -- Lacy really shines.
  5. I'm curious too. This is a good thread that I missed the first time around, including the Kimbrough appearance (RIP).
  6. are they duos or is it a full band?
  7. nothing in Discogs as far as its existence; google isn't coming up with much at all. Weird.
  8. Re: Tokyo Bound, Takeshi Inomata is on a ton of records so I was a bit confused by the wording there... great record though.
  9. yeah, certainly some very expensive records over the years.
  10. yeesh. Sorry to hear that.
  11. Jesus. Sad, sad news.
  12. It's still in shops around here if anyone is looking. I can check prices next time I venture out.
  13. The Can -- Soundtracks -- (Liberty GER orig)
  14. I've only had the original and chocolate glazed flavors, not these others. Look great!
  15. The Mayhem cover is iconic and fucked (yes, it is an actual suicide). The Norwegian black metal scene has a fair amount to answer for, though some of the music is really unique and fascinating.
  16. yeah, I was holding out for an "original" but I think that's become pointless in this day and age!
  17. Amazing. Thanks for this! I have almost all the records you mention so far (still looking for the trio on Karim) and agree with your assessments.
  18. yep, two on Qwest in fact. There was slated to be a third but it didn't come to pass.
  19. ah cool, I haven't read the bio -- ought to check it out. My to-read pile is embarrassing.
  20. seems like a good place to post this -- interviewed Collier right before his sudden & untimely passing: http://www.paristransatlantic.com/magazine/interviews/collier.html really nice man and a wonderful artist.
  21. I'll have to dig out Afro-Disiac; don't remember a ton of gg soloing but it's a really nice record nonetheless.
