  1. I like it okay but I don't love it. Think my copy came pretty cheap. Now: Brotzmann/Kowald/Vesala/Aaltonen - Hot Lotta - (Blue Master)
  2. Dunno if anybody's been keeping an eye on bullsite2000's auctions, but he's had some really cool stuff that has gone pretty high (haven't been successful in any of my offers!).
  3. So I watched The Landlord (1970) tonight - totally great. Although it's amazing that I could see anything since my eyes pretty much landed on the floor after Marki Bey came onscreen... Damn.

  4. Good question. Last recording I'm aware of was made in 1999.
  5. The only place I've ever seen the 'Dave Burns' on sale was in a record store in NYC. About $20 - but sadly it was beat up. Both of the Burns have been out on reissue vinyl though during the 2000s. There are also Japanese King pressings on vinyl that sound good and shouldn't be too tough to source.
  6. And by "looking for" I assume we both mean "not paying $387.50 for."
  7. I like those Bley/Peacock electronic LPs. The only one I'm still in need of is Revenge.
  8. Bob Moses - Bittersuite in the Ozone - (Mozown)
  9. Radu Malfatti/Stefan Wittwer - Thrumblin' - (FMP) good nasty head cold weather change music
  10. Well, I only picked Evanston, because that's where Beehive was located MG South side, near U of C and going west to Washington Park.
  11. Lawrence Weiner & Dickie Landry - Having Been Built on Sand - (Rudiger Schottle Editions)
  12. Love it. My second favorite recording ever. Wonder if I'd told my girlfriend that, she would have let me keep it on deck? Now: Sonic Arts Union - Electric Sound - (Mainstream) Lucier's "Vespers" seems to be background-y enough for sensitive ears; as a Kansan, it just reminds me of choruses of spring peepers.
  13. I used to own it and like a fool sold it with most of my Lps after I moved from Toronto. And I was in the audience the night it was recorded too. IIRC it was released as a cd under a different title. I'd love to get a copy of that cd. (I'm trying to collect all the recorded performances at which i was present. ) It was reissued as The Canadian Concert of Ted Curson on Can-Am in the '80s. Perhaps there is a CD version under that title?
  14. Wow, that Trans-World pressing is very, very rare. Only seen one copy in person, ever, and it was not for sale!
  15. Pierre Henry - Apocalypse de Jean LP 1 - (Philips 21e Siecle)
  16. Aw shit! This stinks. RIP, Ted, and thanks.
  17. Terry Riley - In C - (CBS France)
  18. Luc Ferrari - Interrupteur/Tautologos 3 - (Electrola)
  19. So I got a text from my sister, Yvonne Allen, the other day that she checked out a copy of Bill Dixon's "Intents and Purposes" on CD from her local library and that she really digs it. That's good news; hopefully more people will follow suit and find exposure to this music. Even if it's not taught in/talked about in most universities, someone somewhere can be assured that there will often be an access point in one's community or peer group that will bring them and the work together.

  20. Just Paypal the amount to Leo's email address, and list the CDs you want in the message text by catalog number.
  21. This is a strange story; guess I didn't see it the first time around.
  22. CS Yeh - Transitions - (De Stijl)
