Yep, that's got everything you need. Except that the tune titled "Stained Angel Morning" is actually called "These That I Am." The labels were switched on the German edition of the LP, which is probably what Licht and O'Rourke had for reference. I love Ray Russell.

I seem to remember it being done by Scorpio, which pretty much guarantees its questionable legitimacy. They did all those Saturn boots a few years back. If I had the kind of cash lying around for an original, well, it'd be a different story.

Henry Grimes was good, that's about all I can say. There were better, there were worse, but he was there and helped to make those recordings happen. I can't vouch for the present work because for the most part, I don't listen to it. Saw him on a couple of gigs in the recent past and they didn't gel for a number of reasons.

Mine just arrived. Can't wait to crack into 'em and do some excavation. It's been a while since I've listened to the Old/Quartet sessions - they're awesome, though, and the photos included here are great.

I hadn't realized it was on CD. Good date; hope someone offers you one. Bill Dixon's composition "Papers" is pretty interesting, and if I recall correctly it was the only work that he actually choreographed (for dance) himself, designed costumes for, etc. I want to say its 1960s NY performance included Coursil, Ric Colbeck and Joel Freedman but I don't have my notes handy. The quartet reading is really nice, at any rate.
