  1. The question is, are they clean copies?
  2. A lighthearted response.
  3. Yes, those are also awesome records. Still would like to check out the Running Man stuff too.
  4. There's more context to this but the O board is not the place for it.
  5. I have a BN blue-white Liberty of this, but it's quite fine with me. An astounding record, as with almost everything Mr. Moncur has waxed.
  6. Turn Circle? Straighter, but good. Originally on CBS.
  7. Yep, that's got everything you need. Except that the tune titled "Stained Angel Morning" is actually called "These That I Am." The labels were switched on the German edition of the LP, which is probably what Licht and O'Rourke had for reference. I love Ray Russell.
  8. ...who is also doped, and on down the line. I still maintain that this witch hunting is silly and a waste of time. I'm more irritated at Contador for not holding up when Schleck dropped his chain than I am for his clen-sing.
  9. Understandable though... I always say if I have a kid to send to college, the records go.
  10. I seem to remember it being done by Scorpio, which pretty much guarantees its questionable legitimacy. They did all those Saturn boots a few years back. If I had the kind of cash lying around for an original, well, it'd be a different story.
  11. nice score. I still for whatever reason have yet to hear the date w/ Brownie.
  12. How you have a collection that big without reams of Glenn Miller bootlegs, etc., is beyond me. Maybe a lot of duplicates?
  13. Hammered copy of Shades of Blue goes for over $1,000!
  14. Yeah, doesn't mean he didn't regret it for whatever reason later on. I still think the duo with Han Bennink is one of the most killing things I've ever heard.
  15. Henry Grimes was good, that's about all I can say. There were better, there were worse, but he was there and helped to make those recordings happen. I can't vouch for the present work because for the most part, I don't listen to it. Saw him on a couple of gigs in the recent past and they didn't gel for a number of reasons.
  16. Mine just arrived. Can't wait to crack into 'em and do some excavation. It's been a while since I've listened to the Old/Quartet sessions - they're awesome, though, and the photos included here are great.
  17. Phantom Payn Daze - Phantom Payn Daze - (De Stijl)
  18. Can't answer your question because I have it on a booted LP from sometime in the last decade (which seems slightly murky), but I do want to chime in that it's an excellent session.
  19. Yeah, that is a good record too. I was impressed. Got my wires crossed a little on "Papers," though I was close. From Dixonia, p 127-128:
  20. For a warm, sunny afternoon in Austin: Archie Shepp - Attica Blues Archie Shepp - Mama Too Tight Archie Shepp - The Magic of Ju-Ju all original stereo Impulses.
  21. The Ronnie Ross was out as a Japanese re-press a few years ago.
  22. I hadn't realized it was on CD. Good date; hope someone offers you one. Bill Dixon's composition "Papers" is pretty interesting, and if I recall correctly it was the only work that he actually choreographed (for dance) himself, designed costumes for, etc. I want to say its 1960s NY performance included Coursil, Ric Colbeck and Joel Freedman but I don't have my notes handy. The quartet reading is really nice, at any rate.
