  1. Yeah, but most people don't post negative or neutral feedback if unhappy with a transaction. Most people don't leave any, or just a "got the record, thanks." Not too helpful if you ask me. NM- is a Goldmine grade, by the way. EX is not. NM NM- VG++ VG+ ...
  2. There's hope, then... a Japanese issue would be way easier to source, and a better pressing no doubt. Thanks!
  3. Me too. I paid around $40 for my copy, which is super-clean visually but the pressing is noisy in the (few) quiet spots. I saw a pic somewhere of this with a different cover, on CD. It was earlier this summer, so hopefully the reissue won't be delayed too much. Great date!
  4. I really, really want to hear the Moloudji!
  5. Bummer. This is very sad news, indeed. Always really loved his playing - what a left hand! I'll be spinning later today in his honor...
  6. John Carter-Bobby Bradford - Flight For Four (Flying Dutchman, white label) interesting to think of how huge an influence these guys had, especially on West Coast/LA freebop of the last 30 years... would we even have a Vinny Golia without these guys? Doubtful.
  7. I used to do some spelunking, so this could be one to see!
  8. For a second, I thought you were gonna say she butchered a Taj Mahal Travellers tune...
  9. I'll be spinning Have You Heard? (CBS Japanese original, yowza!) later today... Cheers to many more years, Jack!
  10. Yeah, I love Kern's movies, and Lydia is amazing! My girlfriend disagrees on both counts, however...
  11. Yeah, they really are a legend. A lot more staying power than others in similar category like YLT, Pavement, Stereolab... Goo really gets me going, though Dirty has held up rather well. Not so the NY Trilogy or Experimental Jet Set (yuck!).
  12. I skipped the Austin show, as what I heard from the new one didn't really get me going. But I sort of lose interest after Dirty... a friend said they hardly played any "old" tunes at their gig here. Still, shit like "Death Valley '69" always gets my undies in a bunch (and especially the video for that one!)...
  13. I think she's rather hot, though Mark's pic isn't particularly great. We all have bad days, no? As I'm known for going off the wall on these sorts of topics, I'll just leave it at that... believe me, I've been "following" her "career."
  14. Wasn't the original (with different cover art) on David Axelrod's 'HiFi Jazz' label ? Yep.
  15. Care to post a cover photo of Hard Talk on Amiga? Never seen that variant...
  16. Here's another one, albeit somewhat relentless: Sunny Murray - Sunny Murray (Shandar, '68) Francois Tusques/Sunny Murray - Intercommunal Music (Shandar, '71)
  17. I was a little surprised that the Free America series didn't do at least a few combos... The tracks from Uhuru na Umoja could've been paired with the same date's tracks from Space Dimension, just removing the lone excerpt of "Church Number Nine" (who knows exactly where that fragment came from; not the Calumet and not the Odeon). Also, Shepp's Coral Rock and the "Uhuru" jam from Pitchin' Can would've made a fine single disc, especially since they too were recorded at the same time.
  18. Oooh, nice! Thanks!
  19. This is still bullshit. They should have tested #2 also!
  20. was spinning: Mauricio Kagel - Exotica - (DGG original), side two now: New Phonic Art - Meeting in Baden-Baden (Wergo) free improvisation with Michel Portal, Vinko Globokar, Jean-Pierre Drouet and Carlos Alsina. Wild stuff!
  21. Joe McPhee - Underground Railroad (CJR original)
  22. The LP jacket lists the order of soloists on the back, which coincides with drummers starting side 2. I hear you, though.
  23. Huh. On my LP, Bailey's at the beginning of side one. How did Atavistic do the reissue?
