  1. Good - sounds very promising ! Mr Addey never disappoints. I noticed recently watching that Sophie Huber Blue Note film that there was a very good Francis Wolf photo shown of Patato in action.
  2. Presumably they use cycle and ferry method ? What the hell has that got to do with it? Move on!
  3. After the usual speedy start from JM, the NL Postal Service seem to have sat on mine in the depot since Friday morning. Great - NOT ! I agree that the old TNT service was much better. The default and only option seems to be ‘regular mail’.
  4. Roger - ‘Afro Jazz’ was quite recently reissued on vinyl. I don’t think ‘Emergent Drums’ has been though. I agree with the Polygram ‘Redial’ reissues on CD co- ordinated by Richard Cook - sound has been very good. I recently picked up the ‘Indo Jazz Fusions 1 and 2’ on that series, even though I have both on vinyl. A welcome addition. Your post reminds me to dig out the vinyl of ‘Springboard’ this weekend ! I’m looking forward to this initial intro 2LP/2CD set. Suspect it will be a bit like the ‘Impressed’ compilations and I really like Tony Higgins very informative sleeve notes.
  5. Plus a bit more information about the forthcoming Decca releases here, with speculation that Taylor’s ‘Pendulum’ might be slated for its first vinyl reissue next year.
  6. Yes she was - and ‘Transitions’ is a good one in a strong bunch of Concord releases.
  7. Mine is currently in the Netherlands, according to the tracker !
  8. Interesting - I had a similar problem with a Clarke/Boland Big Band reissue from Germany, done in the early 2000s (not Rearward). Reputedly a boot (which I wasn’t aware of) and to be avoided at all cost.
  9. Maybe that ‘Space Walk’ vinyl was cut from an MP3 of a needle drop? These guys, in contrast, have access to master tapes held presumably at the old Polygram facility in Germany. Or possibly copies of the master tapes if the studio copies were retained by Lansdowne/Adrian Kerridge. I am resigned to that eventuality.
  10. My ‘Group Sounds Four and Five’ LP is OK too. But all in a good cause ! if the Tone Poets don’t get you then the Decca British Jazz explosion will.
  11. Space Walk ! Windmill Tilter ! There was a longer list announced last year (which I don’t think had Space Walk in it) but this is a great start. The double album has some great selections on it - if the listing of this one indicates intent then could be forthcoming reissues for Mike Taylor, Colin Bates, Alan Skidmore, Mike Westbrook etc. Put me down for 3 of each !
  12. My 4-for-£10 haul today. All new. And this one..
  13. I have it on Contemporary vinyl - like it, it’s in the usual very good sound. Odd that Fantasy never reissued it.
  14. Had my second shot last week. A few days of cold-like symptoms, especially joint aches. Either that or I am falling apart !
  15. One of the latest 4 for £10 deal batch
  16. Bought that one when it came out on MPS BASF in the UK. Mid-70s, some years after the recording. Fine concert !
  17. I think it is ‘Coltrane’ and ‘Live at the Village Vanguard’ that are scheduled for AP reissue.
  18. I guess Analogue Productions are just starting to make up for lost time, with their new vinyl reissues. A couple of the early Impulse Coltranes are lined up for audiophile reissue I think.
  19. French Blue Note. Damon Albarn (that veteran jazzer) on piano !
  20. Great set ! That ‘New Continent’ is underrated - and in great sound. My Japanese King reissue came from the esteemed Hiroshi.
  21. Yes, that would make sense. Reminds me of catching McCoy Tyner there. One night with mid-sized group was just about the best gig I ever saw. Some years later with the Trio was so-so. Never saw Horace at Scott’s, alas. I was always out of town or doing other stuff when he was doing his annual week. The first time I saw Phil Woods with the group with Hal Crook and Jim McNeely (not in the UK) was pretty good.
  22. Now up in ‘New Arrivals’ with a picture on the site.
