  1. I did the same capitulation today with an order from JazzMessengers. So what if we’ve got this material in ‘n’ versions already - it’s Mosaic, Malcolm Addey - and Joe !
  2. Sorry, I logged on there again.
  3. The Fresh Sound reissue with bonus tracks. Great sound - at least as good as my Time vinyl. Not my recollection at all, of Woody and co. at Scott’s. They were fantastic - and I was back the next night for a repeat. Might have been a different tour you witnessed though. On reflection, the group I saw was the later one with Turre and Mulgrew Miller. Remember chatting to people at those gigs who had flown in from the Continent to see it !
  4. But with weeks of shipping delays instead of a couple of days to the door. You pays your money and takes your choice..
  5. I guess they have been hit by increased shipping costs etc. from the US, not to mention pandemic complications. 107.42 Euro makes no sense - even assuming a sales tax reduction from 129.98 !
  6. The whole thing is probably a side effect of me forgetting their account password and having to reset it.
  7. I know inflation is taking off but that is ridiculous !
  8. I’ve just ordered it too. Special British price of $107.42 !
  9. It was a really great show, well worth burning the midnight oil for and the quality of the restoration was terrific. I have videos of all 3 of the shows I think. They were put out here by TCB Releasing/ Kay Jazz, based in Frome, Somerset - who were presumably the European distributors here in the UK mentioned in the commentary. These came out in the 1980s. Not bad quality but the new restorations are far superior. That Jazz Crusaders episode is a big improvement on a fantastic little performance.
  10. Sorry to hear that. Relatives of mine have had the two Pfizer jabs completed within the planned period (and one of these is Up North) so that doesn’t sound at all typical. Colleagues of mine who are eligible have also all had at least one jab and I’ve not heard any of them indicate problems, which I have to say is pretty remarkable. Booked online via the NHS site - as soon as I selected the date for the first shot they offered me a booking slot for the 2nd. Slots were offered by day and to a resolution of 10 min intervals.
  11. Have to say that our booking system, which is done nationally, seems to have worked very well. The whole thing on the day of jab 1 was extremely well organised and I have jab 2 booked.
  12. Sorry to hear that. Hang on in there. Over here, we are chomping at the bit. Longer journey outings allowable from next week. An enticing prospect after such a long local lockdown.
  13. This is sad news - she was excellent in ‘Play Misty For Me’, a performance that still sends the chills. Not only that but the film had great jazz with Cannonball A., Zawinul etc. May she rest in peace.
  14. Yes, The Three Sounds ‘Standards’ crossed my mind as well. I was wondering also if Jean Luc Ponty’s ‘Live at Dontes’ counted as well but some of the tracks were on that Ponty brown bag twofer.
  15. How about Lee Morgan ‘Standards’? That wasn’t issued on the LT, brown bag series etc. on vinyl.
  16. What would we do without them !
  17. No...... THIS Joe Henderson.. !
  18. Harold Land with Elmo Hope, The Cellar, Vancouver 1958.
  19. Mal Waldron spotted on TV last week. Brief clip of him accompanying Billie Holliday on the Kings Road, London in Feb 1959. Last London visit of Billie.
  20. Followed by Big John Patton ‘Smoke NYC 2001’ with Eric Alexander, Joe Farnsworth and Ed Cherry.
  21. Funnily enough I saw a blue label copy of that pressing in the racks here for not much £ and passed. Real curio. The MPS releases are quite common over here, either German, UK or French pressed.
