  1. Good to hear. Laura Jurd and Dinosaur got a similar mixed and packed house at the same venue earlier in the year.
  2. That viewpoint looks suspiciously like Seal Beach.
  3. I remember the Broadway store very well and bought ‘stuff’ from there. Personally preferred Sunset and thought they had a comparable selection and range. Personal opinion, of course and possibly also a matter of timing.
  4. Picadilly Circus was never the same after it closed..
  5. CDs 1 to 4. Great set !
  6. All of the recent Mosaic vinyls have been 3-5 LPs whereas the Wilson would probably require 9-10 LPs I guess. Nevertheless, the demand seems to be there.
  7. Waitomo Caves tour is definitely worth doing if you can get there. If you have time, do all 3 of the cave systems, which can be done in about 3-4 hours. They also do a blackwater cave rapids thing on inner tubes, for the braver amongst us. Wet suits provided !
  8. How was the sound balance? There were some negative reports for the Pat Metheny but personally I thought the sound was pretty good (and the 2 hours 40 minutes of music were spectacular).
  9. They certainly were. That was a great store - you could get literally anying there (at a price). Glory days early to mid 1990s. Sunset Boulevard Branch in LA was even better !

Some mention of Shorter in that film here, but no mention of CBBB. https://reader.exacteditions.com/issues/41729/page/8

Unbelievable ! I still have quite a few of those Kay Jazz videos but not that one. John Jeremy is one of the guys who ran Kay Jazz I think. Headquartered in Frome, Somerset. Not sure who I am more shocked by recording with the CBBB. Shorter or Lol Coxhill !

Really? Never heard that, details please !
  13. I always think of it as the ‘Palais’ dance hall influence. Shades of Geraldo, Max Jaffa etc.
  14. Pat Metheny Great that he’s still actively playing !
  15. RIP Paul Buckmaster. Spinning ‘Ife’.
  16. Plus a feature on his stellar career on our BBC radio main news tonight. Even mentioned the work with Miles, as well as Bowie, Elton, Carly Simon, Stones etc.
  17. Can’t we just buy the posh LP reissue of ‘Step Lightly’ separately? (and not for $200)
  18. That is shocking and very sad news. I will spin ‘Chitinous’ in his memory tonight, RIP.
  19. Happy Birthday, hope all’s well !
  20. Fascinating !
  21. Happy Birthday !
