At last, something useful in the Guardian...
Woops
If my memory is right I saw Marsalis with the Blakey Jazz Messengers at Ronnies back in 1980/81 (band with Branford, Mulgrew Miller and Charles Fambrough) so it will be good to check him out again in action at this location.
I've pulled the plug out of the TV for the rest of the week. All the decent scheduled programmes are getting sidelined..
Prince Asbo has a certain ring to it.
Bev - It's South Cadbury Castle in Somerset. To my mind, the best of the Iron Age Hill Forts, along with Maiden Castle. Certainly the best in terms of panoramic views - not as big as Maiden Castle but still pretty impresive. And a much better candidate as a seat for 'Arthur' that Tintagel/Glastonbury (more likely if he existed it was 'Ambrosius' I guess) during the Dark Ages.
That was my next stop on that trip after Boscastle (the next one being Penzance). Tintagel was great but the pub I stayed at not far from the castle was haunted !
Brownie's Paris heatwave has extended to here today. An excuse for a pint after work down the road from this (after enjoying the panoramic views from the top).
Heavy rain tomorrow..
