  1. Peter Burman's 'Jazz Tete a Tete' (UK Columbia Lansdowne series, mono) With Shake Keane, Johnny Scott, Pat Smythe, Alan Clare. Signed by Mr Burman on the back.
  2. Max Headroom David 'Two Brains' Willetts Brains
  3. At last, something useful in the Guardian... Woops If my memory is right I saw Marsalis with the Blakey Jazz Messengers at Ronnies back in 1980/81 (band with Branford, Mulgrew Miller and Charles Fambrough) so it will be good to check him out again in action at this location.
  4. I've pulled the plug out of the TV for the rest of the week. All the decent scheduled programmes are getting sidelined.. Prince Asbo has a certain ring to it.
  5. Michael Gove Prof. Pat Pending Heinz Wolff
  6. Sad news. I like the playing on 'Mother Ship' - and the Dave Burns LP - too.
  7. Only familiar with him from the George Russell recordings but sorry to hear this.
  8. It's started ! Still have a copy of that book - I think it's still the best text on that place. The major dig was in the late 1960s.
  9. Lee Morgan 'Vol 2' (BN Lexington DG mono)
  10. Bev - It's South Cadbury Castle in Somerset. To my mind, the best of the Iron Age Hill Forts, along with Maiden Castle. Certainly the best in terms of panoramic views - not as big as Maiden Castle but still pretty impresive. And a much better candidate as a seat for 'Arthur' that Tintagel/Glastonbury (more likely if he existed it was 'Ambrosius' I guess) during the Dark Ages.
  11. You found a copy ! Graham C. wasn't even aware that the stereo version existed before the BGO reissue was done.
  12. Yep, King Arthur is really big in those parts. Pure fiction, of course..
  13. That was my next stop on that trip after Boscastle (the next one being Penzance). Tintagel was great but the pub I stayed at not far from the castle was haunted !
  14. Pack one of these ! I stayed in Boscastle about 15 years ago - some years before the floods. It was very enjoyable and a great base for Clovelly etc.
  15. Brownie's Paris heatwave has extended to here today. An excuse for a pint after work down the road from this (after enjoying the panoramic views from the top). Heavy rain tomorrow..
  16. The lawns are like a prairie ! A cool-off and some rain can't come soon enough..
  17. Happy Birthday !
  18. Happy Birthday !
  19. Take along a canoe !
  20. Clyde Clint Eastwood Kyle Eastwood
  21. Marky Mark Mark Carney Harry Carney
  22. Clouded over here too just now - and a bit of a breeze. Needed to cool off !
  23. Dawlish is potentially looking good !
