  1. I see the article mentions that the Mobley Mosaic set was 'running low' . First I'd heard of that - turns out its backordered and expected to be re-stocked in May. Crisis averted !
  2. Here's wishing him well and prayers too for recovery. Always thought of cross-country skiing as a safe option but apparently not.
  3. Happy Birthday Clifford ! Hope you get some nice vinyl.
  4. Albert Ayler Don Ayler Teflon Don
  5. Always good to see new BN Liberty era issues but I'll pass on these..
  6. Bobby Hutcherson 'Happenings' (BN NY USA, stereo) This is one BN title where the stereo is a safer bet than the mono (distortion on every copy I've heard).
  7. No 'Dad's Army' and Stanley Baxter then?
  8. Greg Rusedski Andy Murray Timbo Henman
  9. Thats as I remember it too.
  10. Fuller Bop Man Curtis Fuller Blind-Boy Fuller
  11. Larry Young 'Into Somethin' (BN NY USA mono)
  12. The King Japanese original issue would most probably be the best sounding issue of this one on vinyl. Elusive though !
  13. And if it lives up to its name - maybe misteriously return into stock.
  14. That one's on my list so I'd better act. Jeez - why can't Mosaic avoid the post-Xmas period for their 'running lows'..
  15. The colour of it reminds me of the King LP of Andrew Hill 'Dance With Death'.
  16. At the end of the day we tend to go with what our ears are telling us and for many of us, that's vinyl (when we can afford the time that is, to change LP sides). Heck, even jazzbo's switched.
  17. Case in point - I was playing a vinyl of this vintage of 'Time For Tyner' yesterday, Transamerica Corp. blue Label. Great LP and music but the pressing absolutely sucked ! Is that the one where one side is a Van Gelder cut and the other isn't? I agree that one it isn't the best. However, it seems to be an exception. In general, I've had good luck with these pressings when they have Van Gelder in the deadwax. Not so much luck when they don't. Just checked - that's correct ! The 'Van Gelder' is on side 1 only. What I can only describe as 'excess static/noise' permeates the LP, especially on side 2. I'm a fan of it ! Never warmed to 'Natural Illusions' though (once nearly bought an Applause LP pressing of it )
  18. All of these gizmos seem to have a half-life measured in months. The LPs will still be going strong 50 years hence.
  19. Dug Dinsdale Spiny Norman
  20. The Bobby Hutcherson 'Waiting' and 'The View From The Inside' are both well worth picking up.
  21. Chesty Morgan Captain Morgan Morgan The Pirate
  22. Just give it a bit of time - one of the sensors or motor will pack up, necessitating a £££ repair or alternatively a trip to the skip !
  23. Case in point - I was playing a vinyl of this vintage of 'Time For Tyner' yesterday, Transamerica Corp. blue Label. Great LP and music but the pressing absolutely sucked !
  24. Just given it a listen - no great revelations and I would think that the same show with the same general conclusions could have been made back in the mid-1970s. Paul Morley's thoughts on music are always worth a listen.
