The BBC filmed him for TV back in 1964 backed by Alex Welsh's band. It was only a year or so before Mr Allen's passing away but the bravado and enthusiasm evident in the performance are infectious. This man had a BIG sound !

Maybe this is a 'CD version' quirk. I think I paid about a tenth of that for the vinyl.
I've heard that there is a still-sealed mono copy on Alpha Centauri.
Have always been pretty happy with my black/gold stereo deepgroove of this title. Good enough for me, anyhow !
