I never saw this before. It’s nearly complete.

I have the two Prestige LP's she did. She surrounded herself with top musicians on these 2 LPs. I enjoy both. "Feelin' Good" - Tommy Flanagan and Charles McPherson "Out Of Sight!" - Kenny Burrell and Ray Bryant. Anyone else like her?

This is even better than I expected. I just finished the first disc, and I am on to the second disc. Man, what a tragic loss to lose both of these masters of their instruments at such young ages.

Charles turned 82 today. All the best to wonderful musician and person.

Has anyone here been able to find Young's "The Magician" on vinyl for a reasonable price?

A while back, I found a copy for sale on Amazon from a library for 2 dollars. It still had the library barcode on the CD. It is a damn good session.

Can somebody tell me what the purpose of a pipe cleaner is for a saxophone? This is a George Coleman from Sunday night. He took out this long, what looks to be a pipe cleaner from the bellow of his saxophone

Well, when one club closes, another one comes along. The Cutting Room in NYC is now hosting jazz. July 18th was George Coleman and The Rhythm Session. Joanne Brackeen is coming up in a few weeks. But I'll still miss the Jazz Standard.

By the 1990's many of these retail locations went the way of the dodo. I use to like being able to sit in a room at the store a hear music through the various speakers, and different receivers. In New York, there was the Wiz, J&R and Crazy Eddies to name three. In a few years when I plan on retiring, my wife and I have our place in Istanbul, where my wife is originally from. There are a few audio stores. In fact, there is one which is a ten minute walk from my place. Where did the rest of you go to buy stereo equipment? Anyone know what the third image down is? There was also Sam Goody. I used to by albums there and I kind of remember stereo equipment in those stores.

Hopefully is was just the time of day when I was on the board, nearly 5 am EDT and not a lack of users coming here anymore. But I had the run of the forum all to myself. Not exactly sure what guest are. Anonymous members that sign in but which to remain incognito. This reminded me of the Star Trek episode when Kirk was all alone on the Enterprise, which turned out to not to be the real Enterprise.
