  1. Wayne turned 88 today. Happy birthday.
  2. Big loss. RIP, Charlie.
  3. I have these. All are very nice. I have this one too. It is very good. I don't have the Lee Konitz album. I will look to get that one. Thanks.
  4. What a tragic loss it was when he died in his mid 40’s. He led just a handful of session in the 70’s and early 80’s. I have all six he led or co-led as a leader. There are many albums where he is a sideman. I like His playing on Archie Shepp’s “Ballads for Trane.” Any other good recordings with Dailey to check out?
  5. Today on Bird Flight Phil played the last performance of Parker with Strings, a concert from the 27th of August 1954. I don't believe I have this one. Does anyone know if this was ever issued?
  6. Many. For me it was Wes.
  7. I guess that’s why he is the best
  8. Monk, Coleman Hawkins, Don Byas, Denzel Best. Who’s on bass and drums?
  9. David Williams trio. Kenny Barron piano and Willie Jones III drums. Mezzrow.
  10. I just got one from someone claiming to be the CIA. There is suspicious activity performed from my computer on line. I was in the mood to play along. I replied, "Oh no, I didn't do anything wrong." I was then told I need to provide my personnel information to ensure I am who I am. So I made up a fake make, Terry Chambers. and a fake SS number and fake birth date.. I was having so much fun, but the called was ended. I guess he thought he had enough what he needed. Whenever I get any of these calls, the person at the other end, is differently not from the US. The accent is so strong, they seem to sounds Jamaican and not American.
  11. Tony has retired after his two concerts last week with Lady Gaga. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/tony-bennett-retires-from-performing-1211694/?fbclid=IwAR0DERWBzZ6k6KM9vOK4NUEnGVLj9Dw0niRJ5fh3jhChmkWtg8iMCtOxJZI
  12. Here is sample of the recording.
  13. I guess it was the top notch system back in its day.
  14. Damn he had one heck of a system. I didn’t notice. Those are pack of cigarettes.
  15. This is the largest one I’ve ever seen. Any idea what it is?
  16. Pops. He will always be the best. Duke once said, “Louis was born poor, and died rich, but he never hurt anyone his entire life.”
  17. Listing to "Live!" from the 60's. It too is real good.
  18. I am listening to "Stormy Monday" which he did with Les McCann. This is a great session. Lou went mainstream but he could sing jazz too.
  19. What I was told when I asked someone yesterday working at the club, he was dehydrated last month. But I can't confirm that 100%. I didn't ask Billy.
