  1. Dont be coy Jazzmoose, part of the appeal of this thread is an insight into the misspent youths of posters, and your addmission is well, revealing of something!
  2. Reinier, wake me up in 2009.
  3. Dmitry, Elektra is at least as old as 1952, when it released Jean Ritchies first dulcimer album.
  4. Pony Canyon in Japan have a Muse reissue program with original cover art, but a somewhat erratic choice of titles in my opinion, Little Red Fantasy but no Moontrane for example. I jump all over them as soon as Hiroshi offers a new batch!
  5. Welcome onboard Leeno.
  6. One box I would love to own-if it existed!-would be a complete International Artists label, remastered, all 12 albums plus all the singles_13 Floor Elevators, Red Crayola. Lost and Found, Bubble Puppy, Golden Dawn et al. Well I can dream....
  7. Personally Deus, I think it is very brave of you to admit having ELP! But we all have embarrasing stuff tucked away behind a radiator I suppose...
  8. Amir, found myself a bit intimidated when I looked at Philzone, since I haver downloaded a show before- have you a recomendation for a good place to start? Cheers.
  9. Duke Ellington, complete Capitol sessions.
  10. Pretty much what you said David, If I didnt buy, I would never get to hear!
  11. I just won 9 (!!!) sets at auction, an embarrasment of riches-they are all opened, but where to start!
  12. Up. Nobody interested in Phillyq s suggestion?
  13. I have just won the complete Basie Live on Roulette Mosaic at auction, so all these posts have whetted my appetite. I will follow up other suggestions as finances allow-Needles to sew, Basie was not my only extravagance!
  14. Confession time ,I have been a very naughty boy and so far my significant other has not threatened divorce- Just won on auction:Ellington complete Capitol Basie, complete live on Roulette Kenton, complete Holman and Russo Mingus complete Candid Shearing complete live Capitol Master Jazz piano First time luck, have never bid in an auction before and am not even contemplating doing so on E-Bay. Soooooooooo, a little parlour game- what should I listen to first? Am new to all of this material except Mingus.
  15. Tom Rapp/Pearls Before Swine- the Wizard of Is, double of unreleased works in progress/live stuff now available, if there are any other old timers out there.
  16. Ho ho ho
  17. Chaney, my wife is Dutch! but I suspect you only have 2 mono set ups and you want to hear it in Stereo right?
  18. I have just bought The Atomic Basie, and am knocked out by this my first real exposure to the Count, so where do I go next?
  19. Well Amir, I dont intend going anywhere just yet(!?) but where can I hear Phil play that set list? Sounds just up my (shaking?) street!
  20. Seems that I am in a minority about this one. I have had the box twice and passed it on, just too uneven in my opinion, and I do not like the latin material, esp with Luis Gasca. Good news about an imminent release for the Live at the Lighthouse material. I will probably get that and the Live in Japan, and then pick and choose from the rest.
  21. Just dont forget me y`all ! Since I have no experiance of this just tell me what to do when its time! Thanks.
  22. Geoge Melly, having been cornered, once avoided being beaten up by a bunch of muggers by reciting the Ursonate. Mertz!
  23. Johnny Hodges! It arrived 20 mins ago!
