  1. Can we have a red or black flag on the first of May for us Atheists?
  2. Me too, pity the missus is looking over my shoulder....
  3. I am playing the hell out of the latest Khaled album which i bought as a sweetener for the missus when I came home last week with 15 K2s!!! Fact is I played all the K2s once and the Khaled at least 10 times! Otherwise Fado and Leila Downs are on heavy rotation chez nous.
  4. Sad. I have nice memories of Siren and liked the Marjorey album. I will play the single of Marlene from that album(the first record on Virgin?) and review my several memories of seeing him live through the years.
  5. Mike, I think Steig would fit in real nice-look what else rock and left field they have in their catalogue,Holy Model Rounders, Pearls Before Swine, Fahey, Patty Waters, they are seriously nuts and they probably are the only current label where I would like to obtain everything they put out!-So by all means Steig-and, my vote, both Kenny Cox! Many years ago I had a Reprise album Jeremy Steig and the Satyrs. And still have a flyer from the Avalon ballroom where they headline over the Sons of Champlin and the Fourth Way... cant stand the recent CTI Steig reissue though.
  6. How about the K2 series? Could these be in danger? Is the program likely to continue?
  7. Yes Etherbored, I have this and played it the other day. A curio, very much of its time, I wish there was much more of this psych/ Jazz around, I much prefer it to fusion. My suggestion-get both Eddie Gales, put 1 on ,follow it up withFischer and then the second Gale-a seamless fit!, in fact you could also play and Lother and the Handpeople, and dream of more innocent times maaaan, Its worth the investment! But then I have curious tastes!
  8. WD45, perhaps its soon time for Fahey to have a corner thread of his own?
  9. Andy, I usually pick up my Water releases through Spin records in Newcasle, a very nice outfit with a Mojo bias (what ever that is ) but much else besides. I see they have just listed Waters John Fahey release live at the Matrix.
  10. All I can say to my pals over the pond AVIOD the Lateef!!!!Its awful. Leewy, perhaps you do not recognise some of these titles because this latest reissue program seems to include a lot of Kudos titles. the Idris Mohammed for example.
  11. Sorry guys, but Im with Chuck and Brad on this one.
  12. link. www.evangeline.co.uk
  13. Today Closer to the Ground arrived together with The Charlatans only official release. Evangeline is a great place to find all things San Fran both native and adopted-Sons of Champlin,Sir Douglas Quintet,Louie and the Lovers and tons more.
  14. And lets not forget that the peerless Tim Buckley appeared on a Monkees episode singing Song to the Siren.
  15. JSngry,Rocknroll bands in the old west were more common than you think, cf the Crackers in the Western movie Zachariah! Actually The Fish incognito... And I would prefer if this thread moved on to the Feat who blew the Doobies away on their joint first visit to England.
  16. How about some considered view about the Select now that it has had a chance to sink in? Still not got around to getting it and so far not a whole lot of enthusiasm, push me over the edge or draw me back in!
  17. World of,Jumpin Punkins and New York RnB all available in 24 bit remastering from Candid in Japan. I bought mine from Hiroshi about 18 months ago.

    Are the Fontanas available anywhere?
  19. I went for the Mosaic, added a dash of the K2 version of Virtuoso and voila! I think I probably have everything I am going to need of Joe.
  20. Just noticed that the very admirable label Evangeline has released the Joy of Cooking album Closer to the Ground. They released the first album some while back-hopefully Castles is not too far behind. Anybody as excited about this as me?
  21. Hey Late, do you ever get any response from Evidence`And if so what? I would still love the Strange Strings...but I really dont mind what they come up with, just so long as they keep on keepin on.
  22. I am not really a fan of the Leo releases. I have had them all at one time or another and notice that they have all left my, heavily, laden shelf devoted to Le Sony Ra. I have stuck with all the Evidence releases, not one of which was a less than stellar performance.Procede with caution is my advice, unless you are a complete Ra freak in which case what are you waiting for?
  23. I´d buy it Bill! a good suggestion.
  24. Really curious about the soundtrack. Amir reminded me that it is based around Steal your Face, which I (fondly?)remember as the lowest point the Dead had reached on vinyl at that date. I will be getting it in due course though. Nostalgia is terrible for my finances
  25. I found Mr Mingus attempt at damage limitation to be of an interesting and innovative nature. Not sure if I would use the same strategy though....
