  1. Ubu, perhaps its time to consider a move to Canadada? B) (Off topic, I share my birthday with the opening of the Cabaret Voltaire!)
  2. Double bugger! Glad I do not live in the land of Toblerone and Cuckoo clocks! (Ubu, like your new avatar!)
  3. Hello all you Mosaic lovers in old and new Europe. Yesterday I celebrated(?) my one month anniverary since choosing this option for delivery of the Tal Farlow set. This is the first time I have gone for surface delivery and I am very impatient! How long does this normally take?
  4. I hope you are not mistaken, Mike.
  5. To my wifes chagrin, yes, yes, yes
  6. Medjuck, there is a planned release for this eventually together with a second set,see Jazzmatazz-but do not hold your breath waiting. Otherwise, good thread, lots of erudition on show, thanks one and all!
  7. Unlike Ed, I am missing a couple of the Blue Notes, so I would buy it.
  8. Ubu, you are a Sadist!
  9. Perhaps I am in a minority here, but I would like McLeans Demons Dance out on a domestic RVG, I mean if they put out Morgans Sixth Sense ,why not?
  10. I envy you GA, seeing them in their pomp. A close friend on a rare trip to the States in the early 70`s, pre rehab, bought an already inebriated Dan a drink at a club where he was appearing and got them both thrown out!
  11. Now the Grateful Dead thread has shown that we are all (?) pretty broad minded, so I think I will test the water with this one. What do you think about Dan? I LOVE him and recently picked uo the cd/dvd of his 60 birthday concert cum celebration. Pretty much great all the way through but to see David Laflamme and the awesome Sid Page sparring together on I Scare Myself...well words, you know, fail me...
  12. Good list, I am particularly happy about Night Dreamer, I have all of them in good editions except this one.
  13. Yes,Wembley, the Lyceum and Bickershaw...Funny, I thought I recognised you Quincy, must have been your big brother!
  14. Yes, Quincy, Ladies and Genlmen is supurb.Sometimes I think that the Arista released archive shows are better than the Dicks Pick series, check out Steppin Out. (and not only cos I was there! )
  15. I also have the feeling he backed Jesse Colin Young post Youngbloods, but I could be wrong, would´nt be the first time...
  16. Hey, C´mon Catesta you are supposed to be having a beer with me! Short attention span huh?
  17. Share a pint with me Catesta to celebrate my new status as Groover! Get it down your neck
  18. Good suggestions ,and since Brownie mentioned his name, anybody hep to Shearing and Dakota Staton-In The Night? Sublime
  19. I´m saving my hard earned already!
  20. Saw him play with Boz at Hampsteads Town and Country club at the time of Boz and Band. Have a sneaking suspicion he played with more of these S:F horn bands around that time, you know, bands like Shades of Joy(Yeah I know they were from Texas).Cannot remember which ones though...
  21. Don`t know why I missed this thread till today-The Dead were THE band for me when I was a sprog.Loved it all through 72, and then became, very gradually, dissillusioned as I felt a looooong decline set in.My favourite albums were Anthem ,Aoxomoxoa and naturally Live Dead. The reason I bought a cd player was the fact that From the Vault 2 was not released on vinyl, same day I bought my first Charles Gayle and David S Ware albums.Go figure. Anyway I still pickup all the archive albums from my fave period, much to my partners irritation, she does not understand why I must have yet another version of Lovelight! (Same problem with Thelonius Monk!) Plug for the Rockin the Rhein, fantastic presence on Dark Star!
  22. 98? 99? or cue- sound of trumpets blareing-100?
  23. Off topic-a little bit- I am playing Move by Hank Garland, 2 cd set on the fine Euphoria label-very nice-anybody else hip to this?
  24. Still waiting for the Farlow, but I like the Johnny Smith, too much make weight on the Pass which I enjoy when I dip in to it.
