  1. I agree that having multiple smaller prizes would be much more appealing. Not that I would be worried about what to do with $250 million . I don't buy the tickets because it's a complete waste of money, especially to those that cannot afford dropping (but do) $5,$10, $20 or more each week. People should take into consideration how long they had to work for the money they spend on shit like lottery tickets before they flush it down the toilet. The odds are way against you, thus the constant rollovers week after week. $50,000-$100,000 can be more than enough to change a person's life.
  2. Last night I grilled a prime cut NY strip and made a crustless spinach quiche topped with roasted red peppers and fontina. Tonight = fried eggplant and spaghetti all'amatriciana.
  3. And as is so typical of me, I never went to go see him. I always think, "I'll catch a show next week", next thing you know, they're all gone.
  4. Yeah, dude has a good sense of humor and seems very likeable.
  5. Watched the Season 2 finale of Mad Men last night to prepare for the start of Season 3 this Sunday. I'm psyched! Can't wait to see what happens between Don, Duck and the newly merged agency. I have a feeling Don either ends up in charge or goes his own way.
  6. Cross-promotion. They had the Deadliest Catch guys on Cash Cab as well trying to earn money for charity. The dude from Dirty Jobs (Mike Rowe) that narrates Deadliest Catch is also in the mix.
  7. Of course.
  8. Yeah, I was watching it on a regular basis for a while. They do a little pre screen of the passengers before they get in (where are you from? interests? get a feel for personality, etc.etc.) but from what I understand they still don't know it's for a game show. The bummer is, that isn't real cash he is handing out. The constestants have to wait for a check to be mailed. They all should go for the bonus/video question at the end to double it.
  9. I wish I could remember the names of some places I saw on TV. All looked very good. Maybe they're on this list. Top 50
  10. Good idea. I'll call them cupcakes.
  11. I think you're both right. Too bad I just bought two rings, a bunch of fucking cake and a white dress before I realized it. Anyone want to buy a couple of rings and some cake?
  12. Have not seen the movie yet, but that may change in the next week or two.
  13. Cucumber salad followed by Lasagne with veal and sausage meatballs.
  14. Lemon thyme chicken, spinach and roasted potatoes. My lady is making a blueberry, raspberry and peach rustic tart.
  15. Just watched Iron Maiden, Flight 666 in HD. A documentary of the 2008 tour. These guys still sound flawless. The hair was standing up on the back of my neck during the music clips. I might add, Dickinson flying the plane carrying all the band, crew and equipment is damn impressive.
  16. Dude, you don't remember Mister Microphone? That's Ron's son delivering the classic line, "Hey good lookin', we'll be back to pick you up later!"
  17. Out in the country: Tomatoes Cherry Tomatoes Bush Beans Pole Beans Lima Beans Peas Lettuce - 9 varieties Swiss Chard Kålrabi Radishes Carrots - 2 varieties Eggplant Red Cabbage White Cabbage Cucumbers Summer Squash and all manner of herbs Can't believe I forgot the 3 rows of potatoes - red and white. Here at the house: Tomatoes - 4 more varieties Rhubarb Asparagus Strawberries Red Raspberries Black Raspberries Winter Onions Peppers - various Squash - 2 varieties Pumpkin and more herbs. Damn, that is something. No garden for me but I did help my parents get one started this year. Not quite as spectactular as your wife is doing but they did turn out some nice tomatoes, eggplant, radicchio, fennel, and basil. Next year we will be more ambitious trying rapini, artichoke, cannellini and plenty of berries.
  18. How could you not like some of his movies? His career did drop off after Home Alone, which was a great movie because of Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci, but he wrote some real gems. I never cared for The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink or Sixteen Candles, but... Uncle Buck Vacation Christmas Vacation (which is the best of all of them) Weird Science Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Ferris Bueller's Day Off RIP man, thanks for the laughs.
  19. Have you tried corn with mayonnaise? Put on some mayo, cayenne pepper, cumin and some salt. I was skeptical at first but I tried it and I love it!!! I've seen that done and heard good things about it. My lady doesn't like mayo so I've never tried it. I suppose I could do it and just not say anything. I do the butter and parmigiano thing though. Melt the butter with a little olive oil.
  20. Jes, it is happening to me as well.
  21. I think he should change his name to Flo Rida.
  22. Same old versions, just more sun tans and shorts. And dinner at 4 ... p.m. True. Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode when Jerry went to a later dinner with his parents and then they got ragged on for missing the "early bird special".
