  1. While at Mill Basin Deli the other day I noticed they had pastrami egg rolls behind the counter, so tonight I made egg rolls but filled with Prosciutto di Parma, Mozzarella di Bufala and thin potato slices. Served them with asparagus and roasted artichoke. It turned out good.
  2. Had dinner Tuesday night at Del Posto (Batali/Bastianich). Talk about an overwhelming wine list. We splurged on a 2003 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli.
  3. Yes, the board has been a bust. And yes, let's make jazz exclusive to the left! Why stop there though, let's make ALL music exclusive to the left since those on the right obviously do not have the mental capacity or ability to understand the genius of Britney Spears or appreciate Ben Webster. I like how the political opinions of a few on this board that differ from the majority translates into a "intent on taking over Organissimo". You do know you have the ability to type up a response to those "rabid right wingers" rather than wait for folks like Chris to do it, don't you?
  4. Yes, 49 is way too young. Both of the children died young. Very sad.
  5. The closing theme from All In The Family,"Remembering You", played by Roger Kellaway. The Bob Newhart Show Barney Miller The Honeymooners
  6. Dude, what's up? Salty snack food is so Organissimo of yesterday. Didn't you get the memo? We've all moved on to Seared Magret Duck Breast with Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Haricots Verts and Brandied Cherry Reduction Sauce as the preferred food. No more beer either. It's all wine and single malt scotch. Porn however is still very much in and accepted. They can't take that away!
  7. Yep. As you can see I have it stuck to my office door.
  8. Is this style in or out?
  9. I've heard the rumors about the possibility of AEG putting together a Michael Jackson Zombie tour. I guess that would be the ultimate comeback. The garden snake thing is an interesting option/idea. I think Michael Jackson as a garden snake would actually be believable. It's also probably less expensive.
  10. I tend to agree with this sentiment, but then again, think of the tens of millions of dollars that he likely paid in taxes to LA. I may be wrong about that though as perhaps he didn't pay to LA proper. the City is not going to shoulder the total expense. supposedly, they will get help from AEG, the Jackson family and from other public and private donations. Really? Because thus far AEG has been very noncommittal. After seeing the Jackson family Rolls Royce parade pictures tonight, I think seeking donations from the general public is a classless act. His family should be paying a minimum of half with AEG paying the other. I suspect though, his family won't pay squat.

  12. I didn't watch it but did see some news reports. It looked about like what I expected, a circus. The City of Los Angeles was in no position to shell out the $3-4 million it cost. What a waste. Maybe dude did deserve a the royal send off, but it should have been paid for by either his family, friends, fans, record company or whoever, not with tax funds. L.A. has like a half billion dollar budget deficit and continues with layoffs and cuts. This is a bad (yet very common) example of City government at work. Sorry to piss on the parade, but life goes on.
  13. I think they are all about the same. Not worth the extra money if you have road side assistance with the warranty of your car. Another alternative is having it added to your insurance policy.
  14. or... " Do you want to touch my monkey"?
  15. Happy Independence Day to all!
