  2. On this page for the newish release it says http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog...p?movieid=77876 Also contains music from Repulsion and Sweet Smell of Success
  3. Caught this yesterday afternoon as well. STUPENDOUS production, BEAUTIFUL filming and INCREDIBLE sets. I agree Sal, I couldn't make that empathetic connection with characters as well. I think it may have been self-defense, because I sensed from the start that tragedy was going to befall the whole family and I couldn't get past the "doom and gloom." The ending. . .well. . . I was struck with how totally bizaare the closing ballad was in conjunction with the ending of the drama!

    ALICE COLTRANE PASSES

Thanks for all the wonderful music Alice!
  5. I hear the next Fantastic Four movie will feature the Puppet Master as the villain, and Dick Cheney is interested in the role. . ..
  6. Obviously, she knew how to walk the dog.
  7. "Black Bolt and the Inhumans" starring Al Gore.
  8. http://gdfiles.com/other-bands/herbie%20ha...20hanthingy-jac o%20pastorius%201977-02-16/ Hancock with Pastorius and Maupin 1977
  9. They're both really good ones. . . . Both should still be in print for a while. . . . Can't go wrong either way.
  10. I like the session myself. You do get a perfectly nice cover image from itunes, and it's half the price or less of the Japanese cd prices I've seen. I enjoy making cover art myself. I remain unconvinced, I think it's a stretch to call iTunes a ripoff.
  11. It's been out at least once in Japan on cd, which is why iTunes has it. I have that. To be honest, I've bought other clones of Japanese cds from iTunes (Verve Vault) and they sound nearly identical to Japanese cds I have. Calling iTunes "ripoff artists" sounds inappropriate to my experience, very much so.
  12. So what's your secret? I think they were afraid of all the money they'd lose if I quit because of a hike!
  13. Yes, there's an order I made the week after Xmas that still has not shipped. I've received an order placed after that! Go figure. Doesn't show as backordered either. Just logged in (still 5.99!) to check.
  14. MANY MORE HAPPY HAPPY ONES!
  15. My price is still 5.99. I even ordered and was charged for items that were 5.99 or multiples last week. . .
  16. The question is: Could Hunter, Garcia, and the rest of the Dead relate to it through personal experience? I bet the answer is yes, they could relate. To me one of the great appeals of Hunter's lyrics is the "unspecificity" of them, which allows listeners to conjure up their own referrences and so be involved in the song. . . .
  17. That's a two cd CONOISSEUR set, not with RVG mastering.
  18. Yes, Brown-Eyed Women. That was one of the songs that got me going in the "Europe '72" phase of my Dead listener history. Really nice imagery that I can relate to from some personal experience! And I love the real folky feel of the B section.
  19. Hmmm. . . I hadn't thought about it quite that way. Okay, I morphed into another of my idols!
  20. Well said all around Bill! No arguments from me. When I started this thread my interest had rekindled. . .and then it took to a hot flame with all the contributors' thoughts and feelings!
  21. Try: Helen Merrill Carmen McRae Betty Carter You might like these jazz singers.
  22. Hope it was a great one Jeff and many many more!
