Very interesting two cd release which is being sold right now by cduniverse for ELEVEN DOLLARS.
They've included all the performances EXCEPT for the fascinating two selections fronted by Larry Lee, damn it. (Mastermind Man, Gypsy Woman). And of course there are only occasional sonic evidence of Larry, Juma and Jerry if you listen really really hard. It has always always really burned me up that they recorded this with an ear to ingnoring totally the expansion of the band.
That said. . . .Man the picture is better on the original version, there's about 23 more minutes of stuff, the thing looks better because they remixed it with more camera angles, etc. AND the black and white film I find pretty fascinating in its way. Some reviews of this say that most will just watch the "Second Look" once; I'm going to watch that more than once.
What is that woman holding throughout the performance? A cat?
