  1. Earlier cd players can have difficulty playing longer cds.
  2. Tom Harrell “Upswing” Chesky cd Tom Harrell - Trumpet, Flugelhorn Phil Woods - Alto Saxophone Joe Lovano - Tenor Saxophone Danilo Perez - Piano Peter Washington - Bass Bill Goodwin - Drums Reply
  3. Huh, I thought that complete box was just Columbia, which would be the bulk of his releases anyway. Well, Concord put out a 2 cd set of their material, and also the complete Improv recordings in another set.
  4. Concord perhaps? There was an album on Fantasy and one on Bennett's Improv label. Concord put out a complete version of the Fantasy and there is a box set of all the Improv material.
  5. What a musical mind, what a singer, what a painter. You'll be missed Mr. Bennett.
  6. John Coltrane Quintet with Eric Dolphy “Evenings at the Village Gate” Impulse SHM-SACD Japan.
  7. Keith Jarrett Trio “Bye, Bye Blackbird” ECM cd How interesting that the photo of Miles on the cover is so instantly recognizable! Great disc.
  8. They seem fine. I haven't read the notes yet, just glanced through. Some nice photos not seen before. . . . I agree. . . I like the sound on the "Complete" version I have from Japan a lot.
  9. Yes, they're great--been enjoying them for decades.
  10. Mosaic just released "The Complete Sonny Clark Blue Note Sessions" and my copy arrived yesterday evening. Sounds great! I'm on disc 2
  11. I got no shipping notice etc. BUT my set just arrived. And what I have heard so far sounds great on my system.
  12. Paul Horn “Something Blue” HiFi Jazz/High Density Tape Transfer cdr. This version sounds a little nicer, a little more laid back, than the OJC cd Paul Horn - alto saxophone, flute, clarinet Emil Richards - vibraphone Paul Moer - piano Jimmy Bond - bass Billy Higgins - drums
  13. Well, my copy has been on custom hold in Cincinnati since Friday. This is unprecedented. What are they trying to smuggle to me with that SHM-SACD?
  14. My wife discovered "Ridley" and "Celebrity Antiques Road Show" and we've been watching a lot of the latter and what we can of the former.
  15. Sam Morrison “Dark Matter” High Density Tape Transfer cdr Reminds me of “Decoy” era Miles Davis, and of mellow Flying Lotus material. Cool listen.
  16. Tom Harrell “Trip” High Note Records cd Atlantic Ornette Coleman-esque session. Mark Turner is great here. Very nice engineering as well. Composed By, Producer – Tom Harrell Drums – Adam Cruz Tenor Saxophone – Mark Turner Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Tom Harrell
  17. Bill Frisell “Four” Blue Note Records
  18. Actually the five volume cd/seven LP French sets are pretty darned complete, there's some missing alternates but there not that essential in my opinion. (I have them via Neatwork volumes).
  19. Sonny Rollins “Way Out West” from the new Contemporary Recordings box set, cd version.
  20. I get it. That said I like that thread and spend more time there than here.
  21. Thanks. . . and you help make it so.

  23. Because I don't think it was recorded on anything Sony has ownership of.
  24. I don't think you'll ever get there. . . not sure there's a Sony version.
