  1. There have been releases of the material recorded at "Le Chat qui Peche". . . but this does not appear to be that material. Sam Records claims this is "never before released." They usually don't lie. . . . https://samrecords.fr/produit/5053/
  2. Wes Montgomery "Full House" DCC gold cd It's been too long since I spun this one!
  3. From now on you are Allen "Phoenix" Lowe. Congrats and here's hoping for a continuing health.
  4. Eliane Elias "I Thought About You--A Tribute to Chet Baker" Acoustic Bass – Marc Johnson Acoustic Guitar – Oscar Castro-Neves Drums – Rafael Barata, Victor Lewis Electric Guitar – Steve Cardenas Percussion – Marivaldo Dos Santos Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Randy Brecker Vocals, Piano – Eliane Elias
  5. We'll be lucky if anything comes out. . . here's hoping there will be more. I'm eager for any "period" of Miles to be honest.
  6. Disc 3 of Miles Davis "Bootleg Series Vol. 1" Sony Blu-Spec CD edition. I was so excited when this first volume was released--a promising start to a great series of reissues.
  7. David Bowie "Toy" from the latest (fifth) box set, "Brilliant Adventure." This is the first official release of the album. This is a fascinating album. . . Bowie in 2000 re-arranging and re-recording songs from '64 to '71. The label decided not to release it at the time. Pretty darned awesome sound on this edition, as is the case for these box sets. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toy_(David_Bowie_album) Just released is a three cd set including more material. . . I may get this in time.
  8. Terry Morel "Songs of a Woman in Love" Bethlehem/Solid Records Japan cd Herbie Mann, flute; Ralph Sharon, piano; Jay Cave, bass; Christy Febbo, drums. Recorded live at Montclair Club, Jackson Heights, NY, January 1956
  9. Hank Mobley "A Caddy for Daddy" AP SACD
  10. Lisa Sokolov "Presence" A very interesting singer, lots of mult-tracked performances here. Her daughter is also an interesting singer. Oddly enough she sometimes reminds me of Grace Slick.
  11. Stan Getz "Billy Highstreet Samba" Emarcy cd Bass – Mark Egan Design – CB Graphic Drums – Victor Lewis Guitar – Chuck Loeb Keyboards – Mitchel Forman Producer, Tenor Saxophone – Stan Getz Soprano Saxophone – Stan Getz (tracks: 3, 5)
  12. Two sister recordings, favorites of mine, by Antônio Carlos Jobim, on one Beat Goes On cd. Antônio Carlos Jobim, "Tide/Stone Flower" I have masterings I favor a bit more of both, but having both on one cd is a nice thing indeed. Deodata arrangements... I think he did great arrangements at this time.
  13. "Sunflower" got me in a CTI mood and so I'm now on the second disc ("Chicago Theme") in this 2 cd Hubert Laws set, "Morning Star / Carnegie Hall / Chicago Theme" on Beat Goes On. A mixed bag overall but the arrangements on the first two albums and the innovative flute effects technology especially on the first album remain very interesting. The mastering on these Beat Goes On CTI recordings is "meaty" and I wanted to hear how they are reproduced by my new DAC, which is a heavily modded (new transformers, EMF absorption material, and and analog board/Farad external linear power supply mod) example of the PS Audio DirectStream DAC that I have been using for years.
  14. I know there were changes later in the year, but this is the personnel listed for recorded shows during the time John saw him. I wish I could have seen him that year! I did on TV.
  15. I sold those boxes on and have the "Complete Albums" box set that has all those and more. I think the two boxes sounded a bit better, but I have LPs of my favorites anyway and play those instead of cd versions..
  16. Thank goodness it was mild! I hope all--all who have reported these infections on this page--are feeling better now.
  17. I keep the boxes in my storage unit, and the booklets in a deep bookcase I have in my listening area.
  18. R, glad you all tested negative and hope your Mom continues to recuperate gracefully.
  19. That's a great cd Dr. H! Right now
