  1. David Crosby "If Only I Could Remember my Name" 50th Anniversary edition, cd 1 One of my favorite rock albums. Really nice new edition--the Plangent Process really works.
  2. Yes. But young Eric was the standout for me.
  3. I have the cd set, which I bought because I didn't think I'd get a chance at the LP set, which I did get at a great price. I have no complaints. I don't spin either that often, but that's because there is so f'in' much to listen to.
  4. Lucy wanted to watch Sex Education, so we watched Seasons 1 and 2. Entertaining.
  5. There's a "Lost Recordings" release that is supposed to be official, and is in excellent sound. There's an LP, a cd, and it's on Spotify. https://open.spotify.com/album/4fq6DWU3CfWsNsVMlqu7fZ
  6. Eddie Condon and Ted Lewis "The Clarinet Talks"
  7. Bud Freeman featuring Shorty Baker "All Star Swing Sessions" Swingville/OJC cd Bud Freeman with Harold "Shorty" Baker, Claude Hopkins, George Duvivier, J.C. Heard, Pee Wee Erwin, Herman Autry, "Big Chief" Russell Moore, Dickie Wells, Herbie Hall, Red Richards, Leonard Gaskin, Herb Lovelle, Bunny Berigan, Eddie Condon, Claude Thornhill, Grachan Moncur, Cozy Cole
  8. No question what decade this one was recorded! Jeremy Steig "Firefly" CTI Supreme Series Japan Blu-spec CD
  9. Tyree Glenn "At the Roundtable" Roulette lp Another studio LP with Hank Jones and Mary Osborne.
  10. Tyree Glenn "At the Embers" Roulette LP A studio album though one might think it's live. I really love Glenn's playing. And this is one of the three he released with Hank Jones at the piano--a great thing.
  11. Herbie Mann "Sultry Serenade" OJC cd
  12. Possibly Woods and Terry on the '67 European tour.
  13. I'm drinking organic Mexican coffee. No alcohol last night. Think of alcohol less and less and glad my wife is also a non-drinker.
  14. I have not listened to the whole set yet. So far discs 1 and 3 are very rough sounding . . . wire recordings.
  15. I honestly haven't been able to get past the initial shock of the sound and sit down and focus on it to evaluate it. My gut says that at least the first disc is a bit less sonically restored as most of the Benedetti, more in line with the worst of that set. I don't remember the "Wow" cd sound . . . haven't heard that disc for some time and I believe it is in storage now. The sextet material just sounded very diffuse and unfocused initially and I stopped listening. Perhaps next week I'll be able to dedicate more time to the set. The trio material is in very good sound--I listened to disc IV twice.
  16. A really nice one--I have this on the Mosaic set. I love Stinson's playing anywhere I find it.
  17. I sure wish a lot of this set sounded better. Some of it is darned near impossible for me to sit through, and I can sit through some rough stuff.
  18. I would have been impressed had he used "aqua vitae."
  19. I haven't been in Austin for seven years so I'll just echo E's solid recommendations of Waterloo and Book People.
  20. Took out Disc 1 of the Tristano, the sound was just too bad to enjoy right now. On to Nucleus "Live at the BBC" disc 1.
  21. Disc 4 followed by Disc 1
  22. I sampled a few discs and listened to the best sounding of those, disc IV, trio recordings. Very nice!
