  1. Well, to be precise it appears I am "da burly man." That's what my GF has been consistently calling me. I have been called worse! Looking forward to these new ones. I've bought every set so far, and even those I was looking at a little bit funnily before listening have been rewarding listens.
  2. I enjoyed ALL of the Hemphill set. Went through it all with great enjoyment. When I can I need to spin it all again.
  3. Finished True Blood Season Five on Blu-ray. Just about to start Hamlet, no I mean Sons of Anarchy Season Six on Blu-ray.
  4. Hmm. . . I personally don't think Sade is trying to sing in that bag. Have you tried Maucha Adnet? I like her and she reminds me of Astrud in some ways. Maucha was a member of Jobim's circle of singers for a while and I think she learned a lot.
  5. Yeah, THAT would be nice to see.
  6. Many happy happy returns!

  9. It's not for me, but I could see buying it and making three or four sandwhices with some additional buns or bread. . . back a few years ago when I got together with my two best friends on Monday nights this would have been a nice meal.
  10. Whoo hoo! amazon.fr has them available for pre-order.
  11. I wouldn't get too hung up on sound module differences. My guess is these days most all would be sufficient, I would look myself more at the playability and expressiveness of the pads and the sturdiness and ease of setup. These were the key features I liked about the Roland.
  12. No don't believe it has that. I'm in another state at the moment and for a few more days (wedding of one of my girl friend's nieces) and won't be able to check for a while, but I'm pretty sure the answer is no. But the sounds on this set are really nice and you can adjust the sounds quite easily and extensively, it's a very good set.
  13. Mine is no longer made, it's a Roland TD9-S set. http://www.zzounds.com/item--ROLTD9S
  14. I don't have experience with the Alesis, but have had electronic kits from Simmons ('eighties) and currently have a Roland. The Roland is a very nice kit and the companion amplifier (sold separately) is the very best I've ever used with a drumkit. Electronic drumkit drumming is very different from acoustic kit drumming. (I've had Ludwig in the past, have had a Sonor kit for over 25 years now, not used much the last decade.)
  15. Yes, awesome isn't it? We're talking about this in the "Bob Dylan Corner."
  16. Personally I think if this were recorded we'd have seen boots of it and possibly an official release by now. But I hope I'm wrong! I'd love to hear it, especailly in the great sound I know would come from an official release.
  17. Many many happy returns!

Well, regardless, I think this is going to be an amazing volume in a stupendous series. Looking forward to it!

I've never heard anything about Neil owning these. Here is what Rolling Stone has to say: The 20 reel-to-reel tapes that hold the entire sessions sat in the Woodstock home of the Band's Garth Hudson until about ten years ago, when he sold them to Canadian collector Jan Haust. Dylan's office cut a deal with Haust that allowed the tapes to finally come out officially. "They had deteriorated some and a few reels were missing," says a source close to the Dylan camp. "We had to find copies of a few on cassette and DATs." Through painstaking research, and a little guesswork, the songs are presented in roughly the order they were taped, though a series of half-completed or poorly recorded tracks reside on the final disc. The material has also been remastered and sounds infinitely better than even the best bootlegs. "Everything is coming out, besides four or five things that just sound like distortion," says the source. "We usually curate these packages more, but we knew the fans would be disappointed if we didn't put out absolutely everything." http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/bob-dylan-complete-basement-tapes-bootlegs-released-november-20140826#ixzz3BWbqyMnJ
