  1. Hmmm. . . I can see not being a big Bonham fan (and I'm not really) but he gave the music its own type of swing and there's lots of energy there for me. Was out and about and bought a Led Zeppelin t-shirt today. Something may be wrong with me!
  2. LOVE Scandal. Over the top, but the acting makes that fun.
  3. Many happy happy returns!
  4. I am a fan of the two Minions on Bethlehem, as well as Sallie Blair, Teal Joy, etc. Special sort of presentation and "feel" on these lps. . . cheezy but cool too.
  5. An interesting show, I'd love to hear your impressions. I watched the first three seasons pretty quickly. Liked, not loved this series overall though.
  6. Nick Fatool, a great drummer. Interesting. Preorders are now allowed.
  7. thnx for the thumbs up btw hint reg. "matador".......will reconsider A warning on Matador. While the BN SHMs generally include the bonus tracks from previous US releases, Matador misses the bonus track from the 1990 CD which made it the complete session. I can't see this track being logically reshuffled to another Grant Green SHM. Sound is awesome, of course. Interesting. I didn't miss the alternate. And I don't. Sounds awesome indeed.
  8. And those Gary Burtons!
  9. Logan's Run, the series. A hoot!
  10. Yes it does contain previously unreleased material, but not much of that necessarily from the Ellington configurations. http://www.allaboutjazz.com/out-of-the-shadows-by-chris-mosey.php#.U7V4txboYfE
  11. I agree it's ridiculous, but so is Halt and Catch Fire imo, that's one of the most unrealistic shows I've ever watched. I expect ridiculous from TV.
  12. Tyrant (FX), episodes 1 and 2. Okay so far. Has Moran Atias and Justin Kirk going for it.
  13. Yes. And those two lines.
  14. You'll dig it. I actually like that cover photo and its cropping. . . the added elements, not so much. But the music is awesome.
  15. www.allegro-music.com will have it eventually.
  16. Well covers don't really mean much to me. I know others feel differently but to me the music is judged completely divorced from any artwork, liners, etc. I disagree with the review, This date has a very deep musical foundation to it, and all players are there to play. I've loved it since I first heard it many years ago.
  17. You're missing a great Green-Quebec-Clark session.
  18. You're going to like "Born to be Blue," it sounds fabulous. As do the other Greens in this batch, I've listened to them all, "Matador" really stands out as killer sounding to my ears on my system.
  19. I've had the Treasury Show Vol. 18 a couple of weeks, the Ellington and Strayhorn a week (pre-ordered them all). Quite nice each and every one!
  20. I don't hear it either, but then I've adjusted my system to tame hot treble. And I don't use headphones at all. Love the new remaster.
  21. Hope it is/was a great one!
  22. The first US cd was that awful stereo with Monk in one channel, the band in the other. Then Rhino reissued it in mono and that cd sounds very good. I agree that the new Japanese Warner cd sounds best of all.
  23. Many happy happy returns!
