  1. There are a lot of legal things on that site. But probably not these files.
  2. Yes, once I saw her singing in "Chicago" I knew she would be the right choice for Bessie. I've even said so in the past on this forum. I hope they do the material proud.
  3. I'd love it if Universal would concentrate on new masterings and collecitons of the first fifteen years of Blue Note. That is what I would MOST like to see done with the catalog. 21st century masterings of the blues, swing and early bop sessions.
  4. Probably not going to include Blue Train.
  5. That's a big if! I'm sure it's a great set. But the individual cds of the Black Lion and Vogue sessions don't sound bad at all. I've gone that route.
  6. Certainly the right choice of star. Could be good.
  7. I'll echo what SW says. Recommended!
  8. Not sure I've heard that one, but I'm not a fan of the US cd.
  9. cdjapan says June 25.
  10. Gonna be good. Hate the sound of the early cd.
  11. Glad you're digging it Chris. Yeah, it's funky and free and though it doesn't blow my mind the way it did those first years in the 'Seventies, this music still jazzes me!
  12. They do sound a bit loud (those I have) but not prohibitively so, pretty nice sound overall.
  13. I don't have a problem with the book title or the label title; I can appreciate those. I'm not a big Pepper fan though, I really have tried and have a lot of his material, but it' just doesn't do as much for me as it does for others, so I haven't bought any of the Widow's Taste releases, and haven't read the autobio.
  14. Or. . . "Baby Face Willette Plays for Lovers."
  15. I remember first hearing this about twenty some years ago and just being floored! A great meeting of two unique minds.
  16. Yeah, I just don't think there are a lot of titles in print that are going to hit clearance pricing.
  17. Okay, one of the Armstrong/Ellingtons is in print, but many other Roulette releases are out of print.
  18. Hell, haven't most of them been deleted from the catalogs for some time?
  19. I may have to read "Straight Life" one of these days. I've just never been that interested in Pepper the man. . . I'm not as intersted in his music as many here.
  20. My vinyl playback is better than ever and this is just enveloping me, awesome.
  21. I can see it didn't come cheap! He doesn't have Live in Seatle though.
  22. e, thanks for that comparison info.
  23. These have been hard to get. . . I wasn't able to get a few (most notably Live in Seatle, want that but it is never delivered). . . though I did get two copies of Interstellar Space! (Will sell one).
  24. Hope it's a GREAT one!
