  1. I think this one is the best I've heard: UCCU-6133 Released July, 2011, SHM-CD.
  2. Have a great one E!
  3. I think it depends on your skin and beard. Those Bic or Gillette cheap disposables shave awfully for me and leave me with a non-smooth irritated face. Just can't use them.
  4. Ricky, looks as if you all did a fantastic job! The booklet is phenemonal and I listened to most of disc IX, wow!
  5. Just arrived! Unfortunately, I have to leave to go back to my "job."
  6. Many many more happy returns Pete!
  7. Yes, that's true at that rate of use. But a pack of ten lasts me only about three months. The individual ones don't last me as long as I'd like. I don't like the shave from an electric though. . . nor do I want to grow a beard, or shave only every three or four days (ouch!) It's a "cost of doing business" I guess.
  8. You did good. I hve the Monk and the Rollins / Monk and they're exemplary.
  9. Odd. . . still no tracklisting on the Mosaic page.
  10. I got a shipping notice as well. Awesome!
  11. Quite encouraging that you got a shipping notice! I was pretty sure we had a few more weeks to wait. . . .
  12. Yes, a good episode. The build up paid off.
  13. I was just reporting what was on that page. I have no idea if Don Lamond said that or not.
  14. This page: https://www.moderndrummer.com/site/2011/12/rifftide-papa-jo-jones/#.U4DTPl5H1FI seems to infer that the phrase was coined by Whitney Balliett: Maybe the late Whitney Balliett, deemed “the poet laureate of jazz,” said it best when he wrote that Jo Jones was “the man who played like the wind.” If Gene Krupa made the drums a solo instrument, Jo Jones made the drums a musical instrument.
  15. I can appreciate some good funk/soul/rock, I just didn't consider that song to fall into that category.. Other's mileage definitely differs. Shawn, don't worry, you'll realize you're old one day. . . and you might find you're happy about it! I think I am. There are many aspects of "youth" that I haven't wanted to hold on to.
  16. I really wanted to like the "battle" and the song but neither did much to me. I'm officially old! Thank goodness.
  17. I did a brief look online and didn't see a manual either. With the stepped attenuator you really sometimes can be out of luck if you need a volume spot in between steps. They do have an advantage in my experience in clarity though, maybe just a bit but sometimes that makes a difference.
  18. My two cents: they're both really nice releases. The K2 seems a bit warmer and "thicker." The new ones seem"faster" and crisper.
  19. Thanks for the info!
  20. Looking forward to it D! Former discussion thread:
  21. I'm not that crazy about the idea, but then again Rosie is one of the few of my Mom's favorite singers that she still recognizes and enjoys hearing, so I'll probably get it in time.
  22. I know she had a radio show with Crosby during this time frame, but didn't know about any radio transcriptions of her own. Will be eager to see the Mosaic page.
  23. I don't find it any odder than the Bing Crosby Mosaic.
