Yes John, but those were premiered via Pop Market, and the Miles, and this Herbie, were not, they appeared first via regular outfits. I think they are in essence quite different.
Well that's a shame. That's one band I would not mind ever hearing again. Their stuff was played to death so hard in Cleveland before I moved to Texas that what little attraction it had was rubbed off down to nothing.
Yes, KOB is a "made" mono recording in this set. That is not true of the other eight releases.
Feel free to not buy it! I think I'm going to like this set; I've preordered it from Europe.
No, I don't remember anything about this, and in 1980 I would have been all over it if possible, I was really discovering earlier Miles with a passion and a record store was all too willing to find any Columbia lp for me. . . .
Interesting. For me the Cannonball is the best. The most really Brazilian in feel and spirit. I like Brasamba! the most next, then Bossa Nova Jazz Samba, then Manteca. I didn't bother with the Almeida/Roberts.
I really like the sound of this series and the LT reissues series and the other non-Blue Note EMI reissues of the last few years.
I'm not going to put you on ignore, just seems like you want to drive people to do so. I hope you realize that to me you seem the person most often going "Look at me." Full of shit or not I hope I made a point to you that you are coming off as a belligerent person with one or two predominant agendas that are no fun to be in a thread with, so perhaps that's an contributing factor to why you 'can't get people to join or stay." You may be among the only ones trying to get people to join or stay. Most of us are just talking and posting and trying to avoid the turds in the punchbowl so to speak.
