  1. 'Em sure'r purdy! There are many vintage lap steels for sale in this town. Never been tempted to get one though.
  2. Got a shipping notice from UPS today.
  3. There was a Japanese minilp facimile cd of the Powell Roost material which I think was pitch-corrected; it came out after the Powell box set and was US remastered. I guess what I meant was. . . most of this material is not in print. . . if you see it in your shopping, sieze the opportunity. One can hope that in the future there will be a cohesive collection. . . I'd buy it, definitely. We can hope, right? If you see any of the Mythic Sounds cds with material in this time period, grab them, they're excellent.
  4. Just kidding. Many happy happy returns!
  5. Very little is in print now I think. Hopefully more will come back into print. The way I feel about Bud, especially early and middle Bud, I'd say just grab whatever you see. As for sonics, if it comes from the "owning label" it will most likely sound the best. But don't be too picky, if you see it, if it's in the time frame you want to collect, grab it.
  6. Many many more happy!
  7. Yes, maybe they saw the post annonuncing Horo's intentions (which mentioned that Lonehill had already "ripped off" the Teddy Wilson and Horo was trying to get ahead of the bootleggers) and decided to make an effort to get their boots out first. It's quite an interesting world we're in and as collectors we're going to face interesting situations. We're not normal people with normal needs.
  8. I wouldn't say I "love" them, but I do enjoy listening to that set.
  9. Should show up on Worlds Records as well. Generally cduniverse and amazon carry these. Maybe it's just early.
  10. Many more happy ones young man!
  11. The story also implies there was quite a bit of remastering done. . .
  12. Musta been a REALLY long bridge! Republic Steel! My mom's dad worked there more than 40 years! In Canton and Youngstown.
  13. Where, the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers....then LP shopping at Lechmere's afterwards? Palace Theater - Canton, Ohio! '65/'66. Same place I had to sleep thru all them biblical movies. I think I've been to the Palace. I was born in Canton, Ohio, in Timken-Mercy Hospital. GITDAFUGGOUT! Me too!!! That's just plain crazy! Crazy indeed! My parents are from Louisville. My mom's parents were living in Canton at the time, and my parents were staying there; my dad had just graduated from Swarthmore and was a month away from starting at Union Seminary in NYC. I spent just my first few months in Canton and then two years in NYC and then nine years in Philadelphia, where my dad had his first church.
  14. Certainly not better than the new remaster.

  16. I'm not sure any of this is unreleased. Nice stuff.
  17. Just started.
  18. I ordered a copy of this and received it today. Awesome! An interesting Paula and SWR video: More videos on the right.
  19. Disappointing considering the excellence of his previous project, Firefly.
  20. That's good to know, as I have a used copy of the Blu-Ray edition on the way.
  21. I've had three different cd versions and the Storyville was the one I kept, it had the best sound and all the selections the others had.
