  1. On eMusic I'd recommend "If You Could See Me Now" on Pablo.
  2. Many many more happy ones!
  3. yeah, that bites. I may not keep the account forever.
  4. You know as much as I do. Shows how bad the jazz reissue situation is. . . they bother to put something out, but don't even put any advance information about it out there. I guess we'll know something in a few weeks.

  6. I don't think so. Neither Avid nor Not Now have any association with Verve or Universal.
  7. I'm not entirely sure where you got that impression. . . . . At this time Morello's was not a "pumped up" kit. A couple of toms. No larger than Bu's.
  8. I don't know the answer to that but I've never seen them on bootleg. Sound is awesome! I wish that Morello had played with Monk, I'd love to hear that.

  10. Well I have all the material on the box set, and won't get apoplectic about this ommission. I expect I'm not alone. The RVGs are the best mastering I've heard of the material, period, and it's how I'll listen to the session here forward most likely.

  12. Yes, it sounds like a different transfer to me than the earlier cds. . . . I haven't compared them yet but it sounds different "from memory." I'll try to find the other cd versions and compare tomorrow. Doesn't sound as good as the SACD of Ah Um but I didn't expect it to! EDIT: I've done some comparisons. These may be the same transfers, but there's differences I think in the mix and or in the sound of the cds due to pressing plant changes or something. These new ones have a mellower sound to the treble, but also seem less spread out soundwise. That's just how I hear it on my system. Not a major drastic change. One would be served with either or both. The packaging and booklet are quite handsome and nice.
  13. It was a typical pilot (Caprica). Wasn't great, but wasn't a snoozefest for me. I'll check out the season when it's out and over. (dont have cable) . . it may be okay.
  14. I've listened to it a lot and I enjoy the discs, more as I listen. I think Belden did a good job as ringmaster. TK, if you do a search there is at least one thread with a few reports of live appearances, which were I believe favorable more ofen than not.
  15. I always liked Veronica better. I'm just not into blondes.
  16. Thanks for that John.
  17. John, I don't think so. The only different material I see is that Sketches has a PDF file with additional information. I'll be interested to see if the new Mingus remastering bests the SACD. That SACD is the best sounding Mingus disc I have. Awesome!
  18. I totally agree Andy, they should have totally jettisoned the old, this new Spock/old Spock bullshit. . . it pissed me off.
  19. It's no coincidence that they celebrate "fifty years". . . and that the European versions will start appeaering fifty years after original release. Expect more. And I'm not really complaining myself.
  20. Yeah, that Bluebird box is worth hanging on to. The set is quite nice, great sound and notes. As Joe so rightly points out we discussed this before and after, and I bet it gets listened to and not "chronicled" here by members (I know I've listened to it and not noted that in any "listening" thread; I probably only list about 5 to 10 percent of the listening I do.
  21. Reruns of The Office. Still funny second time around!
