Aretha Franklin, "Save Me" So simple, so direct, so communicating. I remember suggesting this for a band I played drums in, The Blue Flames. We never could get it together. Not surprising.

YES, the first two discs of the Weston are the best two.

I don't know. . . I'm not a fan of this solo. But I do like Wynton's music, I like the ambitious long pieces, I liked the Southwestern Blues Trilogy, I liked all the Blue Notes (haven't heard the one with Willie) and I really like Blood on the Tracks (it's so Ellingtonian I feel as if Ellington finally won his Pulitzer). I take very few musicians so damned seriously. . .I just love the music and it is as if the musical works were my friends, I have very many friends, many flawed, and many I'd say calling them flawed is fighting words. . . . There's room in my listening world for all these cats. And I listen to more Marsalis than Shavers, for what that's worth.

Just been watching Episode 2 - excellent except that it was grossly out of sync - the picture leading the sound by at least half a second throughout. Did you notice this? I am watching a recording of the prog via my Verizon supplied DVD Recorder and assume that's how it looked on transmission- bizarre to say the least. No, that's not how it looked to me (via channel 18, PBS Austin, via antenna).

yes of course this is a cure for everything! Yes, it helps healing. The only time I lost my voice. . .I had a bad throat infection and it took a few weeks of antibiotics to get past! And of course I waited far too long to go in for care. If your throat isn't CONSIDERABLY better early next week, call the doctor.
