  1. ....just in case anyone out there has one they would like to get rid of, maybe they're bored with it etc, etc...
  2. Sent you a second PM re the stuff I asked for, don't know if you received it.
  3. As this is now a readily available RVG, everyone who doesn't have it should check it out, it really should be called "Zoot Sims with Jutta Hipp", he's just all over this, pretty much dominates it, in a good way. I love the cover as well.
  4. Got this myself from Mr Tannio recently:

  6. Me too on the general niceness of the "Live/Evil" SACD.
  7. garthsj, Fresh Sounds did this one if you're interested. I have it, nothing earth shattering but decent enough.

The only time that Sticky Fingers/Exile on Main Street were re-mastered to my knowledge was when Virgin had the rights to the Stones post 1970 recordings in the 90's. They both sound excellent, to my ears anyway, look for the Virgin label and Bob Ludwigs name on the back of the CD and you have the right ones.
  10. PM sent on these 2; Young ,Lester/Eldredge/Edison – Laughin’ to Keep from Cryin’ (Verve) $5 Young ,Lester – The Kansas City Sessions (Commodore) 22 cuts $5
  11. Well it looks like this one might not be around too long, it's already on backorder; Due to higher than anticipated demand this set is on backorder. Expected in stock April 14th. Good for Mosaic.
  12. Cheers Jazzbo, I'm looking forward to this one. Have you had a chance to check out the alt. takes???
  13. As usual with these threads, now that the box is available, there is very little discussion on the content. How are the notes, sound quality etc, etc????
  14. PM sent on Lennie Tristano/Konitz/Marsh Atlantics (6CDs) 175.
  15. PM sent on the Select.
  16. Sent you PM regarding your Savoy stuff.
  17. The Lester Young/Count Basie Sessions 1936-1940 (#239)
  18. Thanks Quasimado, that's odd about Pepper because he played with him during Pepper's later years, on the "Hollywood All-Stars" sessions. I always felt 50's Pepper was almost like a Tristano-ite, in the way he approached a few standards he returned too, like "I Can't Believe You're In Love With Me", he does 3 versions that I know of, one with Marsh, the approach is different on all of them, and on the last one on "Intensity" which is my favorite, he is very Marsh like, IMHO.
  19. Thanks for the link ghost of miles, this looks like a great read, I will get this book as soon as I see it, but out of curiosity what does he say about Pepper and Marsh, I would have thought that he rated them both quite highly.
  20. Disc 7 of the Max Roach Set is pretty good.
  21. Thanks chaps, so if I bubble wrap it after securing it with card board and then put it in at least two cardboard boxes it might possibly, have a decent chance, of sorta being O.K.
  22. I have quite a few items I am considering selling but the main concern I have is how would I post them so they will actually get there in one piece, without spending a fortune on packaging/insurance??? Is it safe, in general terms to send vinyl/records through the mail, especially internationally??? Any hints, tips or ideas??? Cheers.
  23. Keepnews is most definitely a cock head.
  24. Mr Goldberg, if you would like a quick and easy way to get a whole load of early Bags, including some of the Prestige and Savoy recordings and, as you are in the U.K., it should be easy to pick up, I can recommend this one; Yes, I know it's a Proper Set and there will more than likely be the usual blah, blah blah, but there is loads there, the notes and sound quality are very good also. Bags of Soul
  25. This is interesting, I think I have a bootleg of dics 1 of this on a cassette that was made for me by the husband of an employee of AMOEBA who mentioned it when I was talking to her about Gram while paying for other Gram related stuff, this was maybe ten years ago???
