  1. Yes, i love my 120 GB Classic. However, its infirmities are showing (especially in battery life), so it's not allowed to leave the house.
  2. Aaaaahhhhh...I have both. I hate the Berne. You got anything else?
  3. Hope your move goes well.
  4. IIRC, the price of the 160 gb Classic was $399.
  5. Amazing how, at this stage, so many posters here feel threatened by a different opinion. Why not just enjoy the music you like and let others have their say?
  6. The question is: what did Amazon promise or allude to, vs. what did they deliver. Sounds like they delivered bupkis, therefore they deserve the criticism.
  7. Apple just announced updates to their iPod line, and they're intriguing: faster processor, faster graphics, faster wi-fi. It's basically now an iPhone without the cellular capability. Also, the line now includes a 128 gb model for $399. So now you basically have a classic iPod with solid-state storage (less prone to breakage than a mechanical hard drive) plus upgraded multimedia capabilities. Not a bad deal. I'm sure what's driving this is they want people to adopt their new streaming service. Whatever; it seems a good deal for us music people, esp. if you want to replace your aging iPod.
  8. Anyway, I bit. Also ordered the Hank Jones "Just For Fun" (the other was already sold), and two Heath Bros.: "In Motion" and "Expressions Of Life."
  9. Kinda figured you'd like the Weston, Jim; I know what a Billy Harper fan you are. Thanks for the input. I'm guessing that DG rates discs based on a visual assessment; they can't be expected to play every one for pops and clicks.
  10. I have no real urgency to buy them; they were at a good price and seemed interesting: Hank Jones - Arigato (Progressive), $2.99 Randy Weston w/ Billy Harper (Arista Freedom) - Carnival, $2.99 Hank Jones - Just For Fun (Galaxy), $1.99
  11. Good to know. The 3 titles I was considering are all "VG." Thanks to all.
  12. If Dusty Groove rates a used LP's condition as very good, is it...well...very good?
  13. Love his remarks about Ornette. Still true, as far as I'm concerned.
  14. bluenotesound has 16 sets up on Ebay, ends in 10 hours. Looks like some titles that didn't sell the last few times around. http://www.ebay.com/sch/bluenotesound/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
  15. Just noticed this at Dusty Groove:
  16. I have extra inner sleeves.
  17. I'm looking to replace the speaker spikes on my speakers, and also buy a set for my subwoofer. Can anyone here recommend a source and specific product?
  18. Omnivore is releasing all 3 LPs in a specially-priced set on July 31. Amazon will have it for $31.98. I'm ordering a copy.

    Sonny Rollins

I think we need a new volume of Road Shows to brighten the mood. What say you, Sonny? And actually, Sony owns the RCA tape archives and has Sonny under contract (under the Okeh imprint). They can easily do a "bootleg series" for Sonny. I nominate for the first release, an authorized version of:
  20. Hi, Pete. I'll go for the Curtis Amy.
  21. That's corny...
  22. FYI, Dusty Groove has a few copies of the Tapscott in stock.
