  1. On Windows machines the same command in Explorer produces a sweet DING sound. Ha!

    Time

I've never seen an SACD of Stanley Turrentine's Time album. I do, however, have the SACD of Tommy Turrentine's Time album. Aren't you mistaking one for the other? Time to correct my error 6 months later Yes, I meant the Tommy Turrentine album. Kenny Dorham "Showboat" had also been announced for realese on Audio Fidelity hybrid SACD, but it never materialized.
  3. I saw Dylan in Munich last year. The band was all electric, all the songs sounded the same. After one hour the joint smoke that floated over the public almost made me vomit, I had to get out. The concert was almost over anyway. I think I'm too old for Dylan ...
  4. This list is far superior to today's average teenager's CD (or MP3) collection
  5. It is surprising for me why so many rare jazz albums are reissued in Japan only when there are so few jazz fans there
  6. I come from a country whose name is usually too long to fit on the map Nr 2
  7. http://www.darkfunk.com/latest_shows/latest_show/?id=94 For funky ECM, try the two Julian Priester albums "Love Love" (1975) and "Polarization" (1977), never reissued on CD but not impossible to find on LP. They sound like Herbie's early 70's albums on Warner and CBS. Another Bennie Maupin album I like is "Moonscapes" (1978, on Mercury). I don't understand why it has just one star on AMG (without a review).
  8. Juliette Gréco was in Luxembourg last weekend, where she participated in the local V-Day, a world-wide event to end violence against women. http://www.wort.lu/articles/4556430.html She is also currently touring with jazz accordeonist Jean-Louis Matinier: http://www.enjarecords.com/tourdates.php#68
  9. As long as they don't prohibit the use of vinyl records ...

  11. Yep. Street date in Germany is March 14 http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006M4SPU/
  12. Her first name Juliette is also worth mentionning http://www.rfimusique.com/siteEn/biographi...raphie_6308.asp
  13. This created a one-day outrage more than a year ago http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3364733.stm
  14. You probably have not added your printer to the Windows config yet, so Fax is the only available printing option. To add your connected printer: Start --> Settings --> Control panel --> Printers --> Add printer . If you have an older printer, Windows will most likely have the appropriate driver in the list.

  16. Today was the coldest day I ever remember here in Luxembourg: -10°C
  17. I have the SACD and I prefer it to the standard remastered 1997 CD version, because it has a more fuller and smoother sound. But as on many CTI sessions, the recording is not that great (too processed), so the difference between the two discs is not that relevant. The MFSL disc is almost 3 times as expensive. But it will certainly become a collector's item as soon as it is OOP.
  18. But not as misleading as "copy-controlled" B-)
  19. Nice page "DAD 1022 by Classic Records 24/96 Digital Audio Disc" is in fact not a CD but a DVD with sound only
  20. Not to forget the SACDs and Un-CDs (=copyprotected CDs)
  21. A lot of snow here in Luxembourg and in Belgium, especially the Ardennes hills. My new girlfriend, who is 37 and lives in Malta, touched snow for the first time in her life this weekend in Brussels.

    Feb 15 RVGs

The Basra RVG (copyprotected) will be released in Germany on March 7, unless this is based on old information. The cover print seems to be ready. http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00076NYB4/ As far as the dicussion on the title is concerned, I completely fail to see how the reissue could create a controversy. How could it possibly be seen as a political comment or insensible act? Even if the artist himself wanted it, the decision to delay or rename the release is just stupid.
  23. Could we please have a "Bizarre penis-related news from Eastern Europe" thread? Man Mistakenly Cuts Off Penis, Dog Eats It Man peed way out of avalanche
  24. I really feel sorry for those exploited ice hockey players . In Germany, some well paid ice hockey pros managed to get unemployment benefits meant for seasonal workers, because they didn't play during the summer. The law had to be changed to prevent that.
  25. Famous Black Blind Singers and Musicians Why did so many of the (black) blind blues musians put "Blind" into their stage name? Was this supposed to add a quality to their artist image, i.e. that a blind man has deeper understanding of the blues?
