  1. Seventeen Seconds by Frankie Rose The quality of the interpretations here speak for themselves, but here's Frankie talking about tackling this Cure album: "Since I already think it's a perfect record, I tried not to reinterpret too much and stick to similar sounds as the original, but with a twist. Working on it with Jorge Elbrecht was a dream, because he's the only person who’s as deep of a Cure fan as I am! And he's a damn wizard!" Together Frankie and Jorge have created something quite special, paying loving tribute to this well-loved album while still putting their own very contemporary stamp on the songs.
  2. Ha Ha!! Never saw Cactus, but did see Bogart and Appice with Jeff Beck.
  3. That was a good album. I haven't heard it in a LONG time, though. Came out a little after this one, which is also good.
  4. I liked this Rush album that is literally ... CLASSIC!
  5. I'd like to see more 'official' info on this, of course.
  6. That Cellar Door box was an amazing set that I don't see mentioned very often.
  7. Speaking of the 'Mats, drummer Chris Mars put out a handful of interesting solo albums. This is one of his best.
  8. Unfortunately, there's no explanation for why they're terminating the Series in this note.
  9. Agreed on both.
  10. According to the Miles Ahead website: Miles Davis Bootleg Series RIP (October 2019) It appears that the Sony/Columbia Legacy Miles Davis Bootleg Series has been terminated. Beginning in 2011 and continuing until 2018, Sony USA released six volumes of live and studio recordings. http://www.plosin.com/MilesAhead/mdNews.aspx
  11. A one-off late 90s Rodney Crowell project. A lot of good tunes here.

I completely agree with these selections! (Shakill's II is also very good)
  13. This album reminds me a lot of Lush.
  14. I think I had it on cassette a long time ago and really liked it. But I found it on CD at Amoeba yesterday, and half way through it's not knocking me out. It's not BAD of course, but maybe it gets better. Can never have too much Dream Syndicate/Steve Wynn, though!
  15. Never heard of this before (from 2001). Eclectic, as you might expect!
  16. I would generally agree with that 80-20 principle, although I'm now in a phase of trying to listen to *different* stuff as much as possible. This will also help to thin the stacks.
