Ho hum ...
I KNOW records like those by the Carpenters would make my Christmas unbearable ... and several others on this listing would be a borderline case with me too.

But tastes differ anyway ...
So I guess I'll spin this one again for now:

Just stepped over this in the Tom Lord Disco - has anyone here heard this? Can't find it on the web ...

Anyone familiar with Joey Defrancesco Christmas--Home for the Holidays. It's two discs, and it's not bad--just been delving into a bit.  There's a smoking version of "We Three Kings."

I'm still surprised that this 2-CD set has never been reissued. It's virtually gone on the market. There's been one for sale on discogs for crazy money for several years and the history shows only one sold.

You would think Joey's estate would put this out.

I think this year I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy the mp3 downloads from Amazon.

Although I've listed many of these in other threads over the years, here are some more jazzy Christmas albums I've picked up over the years:

Barbara Dannerlein - Christmas Soul

Bobby Timmons - Holiday Soul

Christian Sands - Christmas Stories

Eddie Higgins - Christmas Songs (Venus)

Jeff Hamilton - Merry & Bright

Tim Warfield - Jazzy Christmas

Tony d'Aveni - Winter Wonderland

Urbie Green - A Cool Yuletide

That "A Cool Yuletide" by Urbie Green so far has eluded me. Apparently never ever reissued. At least not on tangible media.
But there will be more Christmases (and buying occasions before that) to come.

I actually gave up and got the download files. They are clearly from the masters and sound great, so I really can't complain too much. I do have a nice playback setup (Raspberry Pi4 with Volumio) for my mp3 files in my main listening room, so I'm OK with it. I'm about to pay for the mp3 downloads of the Joey DeFrancesco holiday set for the same reason.

I had seen the music from this LP listed on Youtube last winter and listened in here and there. So as a stopgap solution I now downloaded the 8 tracks from Youtube. So at least the music of this LP is on my PC now. ;)

One I just heard of recently and really enjoyed is Harry Allen’s Christmas In Swingtime from 2001. With Jake Hanna, Peter Bernstein, and Larry Goldings on organ. A hip and swinging group playing the classics in a succinct, tasteful way.
