Exactly! 

It's such a powerful film score -- and a PERFECT marriage of images and music.

Many years ago, I saw Vertigo at the Fox Theater in downtown Atlanta.  Man, the movie is just SO MUCH better on a huge screen.  I'd probably seen it five or six times before, but it was like seeing a different movie in the theater.  It was ten times more hallucinatory and creepy and dream-like.

At the end of the movie, when Jimmy Stewart's and Kim Novak's character are at top of the tower and the nun POPS UP, I just about jumped out of my seat!  Even though I knew it was about to happen, it was still terrifying.  No wonder Kim Novak's character jumped!!!

the only record cover I have that I plan to frame is a defaced Kenny G album that an artist friend of mine did some ghastly alterations to, including partially wrapping it in a toilet paper coating.

Those framed album covers look NICE.

Rather than framing a few favorites, I made a ledge-like shelf -- like the bottom lip of an old-fashioned chalkboard -- where I can set LPs.  That way, I can easily change what's on display.  Often, when I bring home new (or, more likely, "new-to-me") LPs, I'll display them for a while, so they get some regular spins.  I'm always tinkering with what's up there, moving stuff around.  It's fun.

When friends who aren't jazzheads come to visit, they usually don't recognize many (any!?!) of the musicians.  I'm sharing these pics with you guys because you'll likely recognize them all!  

 

My "man cave/music room" is narrow, long rectangle -- in the basement.  This above pic is the short wall, one end of the rectangle

This is the long wall.  My CD shelf is opposite this wall, and there's more LPs on shelves to the left of the Miles poster.

A friend gave me an LP of Sinatra's "Only the Lonely" a few years ago, and since it's my favorite Sinatra album (and I have it several times over on cd), I framed that one and put it on the wall, but it's the only one. I keep my LPs on shelves in case I want to, you know, play them.......

I tried to figure out how to frame the jacket for the 2 disc Ellington Black, Brown and Beige but because it's a fold out, I couldn't figure out how. I guess I could cut it up and display all 4 sides.  (The actual 78 records got broken when I moved to Santa Barbara.)

Understandable 😄 but there is a way out in case you do have space for more LP covers ...
There is hardly any unused space left on the walls of my music room either, so I cannot really display any more (unless I start alternating), but it would be nice anyway ...
Checking again these days I found I have accumulated a few original record covers through the years that are missing their LPs or EPs (or that - in one case - is a duplicate when I replaced a shot vinyl with a far better one). And I guess this happens with other collectors too.
So what better use for those "orphaned" covers than to use them to decorate the wall as long as they are "in tune" with your record collection ?

Makes perfect sense Steve. I was being a bit of a smart ass. Actually, the walls in my music room are largely covered in posters from various concerts I've had the luck to attend!

Are there more people who have framed some of their records. Some of the artwork really is art-work.

Really, some pretty amazing records there.  The Joe McPhee is a standout for me. Have it on cd, but if I came across the lp, that'd be on my wall the moment I got home.

I love that album cover! Don't have a record player though. Hence, waiting for the thrill of someone dumping one at a second-hand store (which is mostly where I found the lp covers on my walls).
