Pim Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) I’ve got contacted that number 5 wasn’t in stock after all. Now there’s that nasty gap in my collection 😭 Edited July 26 by Pim Quote
cayetano Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I sold a sealed duplicate copy recently. I still have extra copies of 3 & 4 for sale. Quote
Holy Ghost Posted July 29 Posted July 29 (edited) At a conference this week at UW Madison, but had a chance to stop at two killer record shops. Couldn't believe my eyes. Pim Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Some real nice finds in a Rotterdam vinyl store. Finally that Ted Daniel record. I’ve been looking for it for a very long time. Quote
ejp626 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Over the weekend, I was in Chicago. I didn't have time to stop in at Dusty Groove ☹️, but I did make it to the downtown location of Reckless Records. It's in a bigger location on Wabash. I picked up John Coltrane's The Bethlehem years and Shelly Manne's More Swinging Sounds, both quite cheap. Today, I am buying a few things on Bandcamp, while it is Bandcamp Friday. Running the Gamut incidentally is available! https://jamesmoody.bandcamp.com/album/running-the-gamut-legendary-sessions-1963-1964 A new Corbett vs. Dempsey release Nick Mazzarella's Siena Sessions. https://nickmazzarella.bandcamp.com/album/siena-sessions-2 Benjamin Herman The Tokyo Sessions https://benjaminherman.bandcamp.com/album/the-tokyo-sessions Vista Obscura by Canadian jazz legends Kirk MacDonald, Pat LaBarbera and Neil Swainson with Harold Mabern on piano https://kirkmacdonald3.bandcamp.com/album/vista-obscura Joe Maneri Get Ready to Receive Yourself https://leorecords.bandcamp.com/album/get-ready-to-receive-yourself And pre-ordered Dur Dur Band Vol 3 & 4 from Analog Africa https://analogafrica.bandcamp.com/album/dur-dur-band-volume-3-1988-volume-4-1989-analog-africa-nr-46 And a couple of downloads from Todd Marcus, who was just at the Rex with Virginia MacDonald. They have a new recording coming out but not sure when. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Hard to believe I did not have this, but I bought one tonight. Quote
Stompin at the Savoy Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I decided to buy Live Trane: The European Tours instead of new Frank Tiberi releases. I've been meaning to find a copy for years and for some reason I was listening to it the other day on youtube and realized this was interesting to me now so I found a reasonable used copy and it is winging its way here as we speak. From what I've heard of it, it's great! Don't have that box, though. Quote

Parts of it, such as Afro Blue Impressions (which I had), have been published as smaller chunks. I think the box is supposed to have 24 bit mastering so sound should be improved. The performances are from 61 to 63, which is a period of Coltrane that I like a lot. Quote

Yes - I have Afro Blue Impressions, too. Excellent! Quote
