Scott Dolan Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) Damn!! I hate that shit. My wife almost busted her ass quite nicely on some black ice when we first moved up here from Florida. A co-worker of mine lost her father a couple of weekends back when he slipped on ice and busted his head. Boom, dead. Just like that. Terrible. Edited January 24, 2007 by Scott Dolan Quote
king ubu Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Finally winter here! (Not that I like it, for purely egoistic reasons I'm quite a fan of global warming...) It's effing cold, and the whole city is quiet in the snow - quite rarely happens that there actually is snow on the streets in the city, but if it continues to stay so cold, the snow will stay, too. I prefer that over the melting ugly grey wet streets... Quote
7/4 Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Yeah, it's cold and getting colder in the NYC area. Quote
Shawn Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Colder than the proverbial witch's tit here in the eastern panhandle of hell (WV). Quote
T.D. Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I'm in the Catskill region, upstate NY, around 130 mi from NYC. It's about -15 degrees (Fahrenheit), but snow cover of only 3" or so. There's a "wind chill alert" through tomorrow AM. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Getting warmer here - pond has thawed out today. But a little bit of rain, unsurprisingly. MG Quote
chris olivarez Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Not too bad-in the low 40's. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 55 here. Only going to be 35 tomorrow, and hovering around the mid-20's Sunday. Quote
(BB) Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Freezing fog all morning long and everything is frosted in white, very beautiful here. Quote
Joe G Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 After a December and January that barely registered as "winter", we're in a deep freeze. Currently: 2 degrees. Quote
Guy Berger Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 After a December and January that barely registered as "winter", we're in a deep freeze. Currently: 2 degrees. It's been chillier as well (won't crack freezing until next weekend), but not nearly as bad as you guys have it. Guy Quote
mikelz777 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 (edited) Today's high in my part of Minnesota was a -2 or -3 with wind chills in the -20s and -30s. Edited February 4, 2007 by mikelz777 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 It's frickin' cold. So cold that when I got home from the gig last night at 4:30am, the furnace was running. That might not sound crazy, but the furnace is on a digital programmable thermostat and at night is set to 60 degrees. Which means the house was actually colder than 60 degrees, so the furnace turned on!!! This old house is drafty. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Just returned home (about 15 minutes ago) from a company party at the race track in Muskegon. We got stuck in the parking lot and the courtesy/security guys gave up and abandoned us. Eventually Ann and another kind soul pushed the car out while I gunned it in reverse. We were stuck for an hour. The drive home was a "white knuckler" with lousy visibility and traction. Did I mention it is 2 degrees? Quote
sidewinder Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Magnificent clear skies and sun this weekend, well above zero. Heck, I was sunbathin' out there yesterday ! Quote
