The Magnificent Goldberg Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Today's high in my part of Minnesota was a -2 or -3 with wind chills in the -20s and -30s. -13 in this part of MN this morning. -15 is forecasted for tomorrow morning! Good Gawd! Are you talking fahrenheit or centigrade? MG Fahrenheit. It's already warmed up to -7 F from earlier this morning! I thought so. How did that part of the world ever get populated? MG Quote
mikelz777 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 (edited) Minnesota can be very odd weatherwise. It has its extremes both ways. In winter it can get brutally cold and summers with the heat/humidity can sometimes be nearly unbearable. Having lived outside of Minnestoa twice in my lifetime I can say that I really enjoy 4 distinct seasons. After the long winter, spring and early summer here are glorious and very much appreciated. With the heat of the heart of summer comes a great appreciation for early to late fall where it again is just wonderful. I think the weather extremes build a lot of character in those that choose to live here. Edited February 5, 2007 by mikelz777 Quote

MG The crazy thing is that you still see people walking around without winter hats and gloves. I just came back from the gym and I saw tons of people walking outside, to their car, without jackets, in shorts and t -shirts. Quote

T.D. Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Sun going down, just hit zero, on the way to something in the -10 to -15 range tonight. But it felt delightful this afternoon when it was just above 10 and the sun was shining... Quote
Joe G Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 -8 F here, and my car won't start. Quote
Aggie87 Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 -8 F here, and my car won't start. I bet you need to chisel it out first, that's the secret! Quote
Scott Dolan Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 We're supposed to get above freezing tomorrow. Right now it's 11 and very overcast. Quote
Joe G Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Had to call a wrecker for a jump, but we got it running. Quote
sheldonm Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 -1 in Indy this morning (not wind-chill).....too cold! Car started ok, I'm moving a little slow! Quote
jazzypaul Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 I have no idea what the actual temperature is at the moment, but I can say that it was so cold that all of the gauges in my car froze. According to my speedometer, I was passing people on the Ike on the way into work doing all of 15 mph. Quote
John Tapscott Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Friggin' cold. Last night -30 with the windchill. That's Celsius, but when you go that low there not much difference between C and F. Warmer this morning - 15 C. Just think, when we solve global warming, we'll have 3 more weeks of this to look forward to every year! Quote
Noj Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 It's been in the 80s here the last few days. Wish you were here! Can y'all forward some cold and snow to my local mountains? Quote

Scott Dolan Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 (edited) Made it all the way up to 18 today. Heard a place in Wisconsin started out at -42 this morning. Real temp, no wind chill factored in!! Edited February 5, 2007 by Scott Dolan Quote
king ubu Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 -1 in Indy this morning (not wind-chill).....too cold! Car started ok, I'm moving a little slow! So you posted this while driving through icy streets? It's snowing again here, too, just started early this morning - not that I like it that much Quote
Swinger Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Today it was -22 (-30 Celsius) around here. You can only imagine how does it feel when you add some seawind to it as well Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Tried to snow at 8AM - about 17 flakes. Well, that MIGHT be an exaggeration; while I was out having a cough and drag, I only counted ten, but some might have sneakily fallen behind me... Later it tried harder. Then gave up and went away. chris olivarez Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 No complaints. In the fifties today. Quote
mikelz777 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Man, we're just excited here (south central MN) that it is single digits above zero today. I think it was Sunday night on the news that they said we had been below zero for more than 83 straight hours. It was below zero on Monday as well. We also got about 3 inches of snow. I think we may be hitting the 10s or teens above zero late in the week or this weekend--woo hoo!! Edited February 7, 2007 by mikelz777 Quote
chris olivarez Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Still nice here. At 830pm it's 32 degrees. Quote
